Progressive Franchise Twist 1936-1938
#98657
Gentlemen, with WiS' new feature of being able to manipulate the size of created leagues I decided to form a PFT league starting with the year of the very first All*Star game- 1933! (Currently filling for the 1936-1938 stanza) We'll start with a 16 team league and expand. All teams are reasonably viable with 3 years of rosters to choose from and of course the $10 gift certificate from administration for greatest improvement W/L%-wise over how your real squad fared gives you extra incentive to not worry about having what you may perceive to be a moribund franchise. I hope this fills and good luck!
1.) Pick a franchise. You get any player who appeared in at least one game on that team in those years (
http://baseball-reference.com/), any year of that player that you like. No clones. You get to keep your franchise every year till 2010.
2.) Your $200K guys can be from any year in the history of that franchise. Make sure it's the correct franchise(
http://baseball-reference.com/).
3.) You must use the stadium from your franchise/year.
4.) You get $100mil to make your team
5.) 40 game SLL min for playoffs.
6.) No DH.
7.) 6/2 Average AAA
8.) Trades allowed. In season trades only approved by league owners.
No pre-season trades.
9.) No WW
10.) Playoffs MUST be played LIVE.
11.) No clones.
* To
means to choose from any season of a particular player. For example say you select the Giants for 1933-1935, you can choose any year of any of those players that you want. The player must have minimally faced one batter (pitcher) or had one AB (hitter). Use baseball-reference.com for team rosters for individual seasons.

Each owner can select up to two franchises. They will be placed in separate conferences. But you can select whichever 2 you want, regardless of which conference they are in as far as the current MLB is formatted.
