I see value, but can't figure out if I should give him a ML chance...  Or, is there someone that would trade for him...

yeah, thats what I figured.  He is no where near my current staff, but I have a few relievers leaving after this season, and I may give him a shot at LRB/Mopup if I can't find anything better for cheap.

I doubt you'll be able to trade him for much...I would consider signing a FA over giving this guy a shot...there should be a few with better ratings than him still available.

Right. He has an ERA near 5.00 in AAA... its not going to get better in the majors (unles you are fielding a bunch of 1B at AAA...)

Geez, he'd get destroyed in San Diego, or even a park with 500 ft fences built at the bottom of Death Valley, much less Dover.  His ERA will be at least a run over park-adjusted league average.  If somebody offers you a projected 25th man, take it.

Urbina pitched for me in a neutral park with a good D.

I wouldn't say those two guys are similar...look at the vR...your guy hit 70, this guy is in the high 50's...that's the difference between mediocre and crappy.

The Death Valley thing was hyperbole.  He's not that much worse than major league replacement level, maybe just 5-10 runs a season-- but once you're worse than replacement level, does it matter how far?

He will be a 5.00- 5.50 era guy in a neutral park with above average defense, good thing he has high stamina, it means he can suck all nine innings every fifth game. He's a turd keep him in AAA.

He comps to average AAA players on my teams but the mediocre control, low velocity and low GB is a bad combination.
