For a new guy like me... Topic

Hey guys I am brand new and have very little understanding behind a lot of the aspects of this game.  I Coach Stillman and have a top 25 recruiting class which is exciting I think???  I don't understand the deeper strategies in gameplay.  If anyone can offer a piece of advice to a beginner I am more than appreciative!  Also look at my recruits and tell me where I went wrong or even right for that matter.  Thanks guys and Good Luck!

Do the recruits have high potential that is the big question.

How do you fully measure potential

You need to buy FSS for the states that you plan to recruit from, or use scouting trips, but FSS is a lot cheaper.

Once the players are on your roster, their potentials are color coded..

Red = low = 0-5 pts of growth remain
Black = ave = 6-19 points
Blue = high = 20 or more points of growth remain.

The key at D3 is to find guys that are 400-450 now, but can grow into 650-700 level players by the time they are upperclassmen.

Well if you go to future stars scouting report it will tell you where they have high potential.(Do you know what Future stars is first off). Also If you send scouting reports it will tell you how much improvement they will have by their senior year.  High potential categories usually go up between 15-20+ points.

those two are in 482 and 473.  Where should i expect to see their total skill points by their senior year?  600?

They'll both reach the mid-600s (630 and 645, minimum) assuming you do a good job developing them in practice (their work ethic won't cause you any problems). The big question beyond that will be just how high the high potential categories go. Don't get too caught up in overall ratings though -- the key is what the player's ratings in his core categories will be. Most of the coaches on here would be more than willing to take a guy with 60 fewer points of durability if they could re-allocate 40 of those points into the core categories for the position. The player with the higher durability would have a better overall rating, but the player with extra points in the cores would perform better in the mechanics of the game.

How does overall gameplay go? And what are good strategies to go with?
