I don't support bowis for multiple reasons, vancem, and I've discussed before on these boards. Bottom line is that I feel like I have nothing to prove. First and foremost, this a hobby, so it really doesn't matter at the end of the day whether anybody thinks I'm the best or not. I do this for fun. I find the notion of bowis absurd. I also think that it's not done right (nothing against Glen or the way he runs it; I just don't think the leagues themselves cover the spectrum of versatility that defines WISNBA).
I also think bowis hurts the theme circuit. It takes such a dedication that many owners drop their normal themes... and good themes die because of it. That flat out sucks. bowis has been on the brink of starting for how long now?
But as for being the best? I think my "accomplishments" (I use the term loosely - this is an internet game) speak for themselves here; I don't need a tourney to tell me one way or another. The best owner of WIS is, in my opinion, uvasooner. qistat was another dominant player in the theme circuit. If you go by just championship total, then you have to give credit to monkee. Between his 5 (that I know of) aliases, he's got like 70 or 80, and they come from every type of league you want to talk about. I thought dman was just an OL domination specialist (which he does, and I'm sorry, but you have to give some credit for that - he did it consistently and without using the same squad over and over), but I played in a theme with him quasi-recently... and he won the 'ship. One for one in a theme with everything else considered?
There are a ton of great owners here and some tournament is not going to convince me of (random owner here) being better than nc7, sly, 'Heel, scud, monk, dh, yourself or several other top notch vets as well as some great up-and-comers.
Sorry for the hi-jack gin.
