Hello,

I am writing in reference to NBA41294, a league which I am a part of. In the league, a user by the name singh12791 started two teams within the same league, including two within the same division. As we would later find out, he additionally created two additional teams within the league, under the username jyoti12791 (notice the same numbers at the end of the username). I'm not sure why he wanted five teams in the same league.  In the message board, a number of us expressed concern about singh12791, followed by him making antagonistic comments about us. He followed this by trying to trick us by posting two minutes later under jyoti12791 that he didn't mean to cause controversy. The league play starts tomorrow morning, but i'm guessing the majority of us would be okay in delaying the start of the league play if these extra teams from this one person can be replaced. I haven't been in many sim leagues, but i'm guessing these five teams are a violation of some sort. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Here is a screenshot of the message board: http://www.flickr.com/photos/79452547@N04/7279602006/

I don't think it is a violation, actually.  If someone wants to drop $50 to play five teams in the same league... You can certainly get him to shut up by submitting a ticket, however.

Unfortunately, there's no official rule that states an owner can't have more than one team in an open league. If true, the accused owner is not in violation of anything other than being a tool with 5 teams in an open league.

The only thing you (or anyone else in the league) can do is try to quit the league. Click the customer support link at the bottom of your league page and send a ticket to Admin asking that you wish to be taken out of the league before it starts and why - but it's the weekend now and they most likely won't respond till Monday but I'd do it anyway and let them know how you feel and that it's an urgent matter. There's a chance they'd even pull you after the 1st couple games or so considering the circumstances so that you could join another league.

You can also always join some theme leagues in the future, too. Just to stay away from this sort of thing. Good luck.

dang, ok well thanks for responding!

WIS actually says it it a violation. 1 person had 5 teams in the league. They took away 4 of them and said it was a violation. Its whatever. He only has one team now. Good ridance

I don't care whether it says it is or not. As far as im concerned, if one person has 2 teams...its cheating. Sorry Felonious, I dont need a constitution for WIS. If you can't see that that isnt right then i guess we will have to disagree. I think it is. Especially when he went out of his way to make it seem like it was two different users. Couldnt care less if it specifically says in the "rule book" that its against the rules.

Did your daddy not wean you off his nipple yet aj? If a guy wants to waste his money, fine. Pull your team and enter it in the next OL and quishafukkinbitchin.

Please explain the HOW and WHY you consider it cheating.

I enter two teams in the same league:  I can only win one championship.
I enter a team in two separate leagues:  I can win two championships.

It's not cheating; it's just stupidity.

I enter multiple teams all the time just to get leagues filled - which is a good thing and not cheating

sounds like WiS  capitulated because a bunch of people complained, which is almost as bad as not doing so in cases much more egregious and damaging to the game (like Bill Russell's defensive ratings)

I think it's a little funny that people complained about a guy w/ multiple teams an open league where:

1. they rely on random computer generated rookies to win,
2. draft way less than 19680 minutes; often times more than 2000 minutes less,
3. and feed off 3-79 teams because new owners don't know the impact of the first two points.

who's to say what's fair and what's not

I hate it when people hate on those who play OLs.  I know several owners who do constant OLs who would rape the theme scene.

draft leagues are still the ultimate test imo....those dominant ol owners need to step up and take that challenge
