LIVE'rs, A master list of Live players Topic

The purpose of this posting is for people  to simply add names of Live players who typically play above and beyond the min live requirements for live games played. It is my intention that if people add names of good live'rs that it would be a good place to start for potential Live Play League creators to recruit from. Hence make it easier and faster to actually Fill a league successfully.

You have one active league and you're on here telling us that LIVE will die?  Everyone knows who plays the games, and frankly, at this point league creators don't have the option to be particularly choosy about who they let in.  If you think a guy will make the min, or even 70% of it or so, you pretty much have to take him if you want your league to fill.  If you're really worried about saving LIVE play some more leagues.

Agreed 100%. When it's impossible to fill a 24-team league with even the best theme, we can't be picky. Lately there have been a number of brand-new players jumping in, at least in some progressives. Better to fill leagues and get them playing than to make them feel they're not welcome in leagues because they have no track record. Everyone who runs leagues knows who is unlikely to play the minimum games if his team isn't competitive, but these days that knowledge doesn't matter. We have the choice of welcoming anyone willing to put a team in, or of watching good ideas for leagues stall out at 10.

I'm on pace to average 109 games with my 12 active teams, with the lowest projected total 92; I couldn't be doing that if there were only a handful of people playing their games. The problem is not a lack of live games, it's a lack of live players. And an abundance of people who only want to play in a league for which they get a credit as founder. When a bunch of people are trying to create leagues without joining others, we get a forum full of half-filled leagues, and Live appears to be in more trouble than it really is. It used to be that anyone trying to fill his own league would sign up for anything and everything in the forums, which led to those creators signing up for his league, and a chain reaction that filled 24-team leagues.

Don't get me wrong achilles, I always love seeing you in my leagues - I know we'll be able to get our games in.  Didn't mean to come off so rough...  I'm just saying, filling leagues at all is very hard right now.  I'm actually trying to fill a league for the first time in probably over a year, it was so frustrating trying to fill leagues I kinda decided it wasn't worth the time and effort and frustration and just joined other people's leagues and let them deal with the hassle.

I hear ya dahsdebater, the reason I only have one live team is because I never see one close to filling. I have teams in my cue which just sit or in a league that never fills. I think this causes a stall out for leagues because there are purchased teams .....alot of purchased teams that just sit.  I sign up for leagues in forums but after 5-6 months its a distant memory. It used to be fun running my modern era leagues which filled usually in a couple weeks and those are the leagues I really enjoy. But I still want to have people add to this list

Same here, more owners like achillesred, those listed in the first post, and a dozen or so others would make this a much more vibrant site. It definitely is a problem when leagues sit half-filled for months. I see nothing wrong with waiting a few weeks, and then moving on to find a league closer to filling or at least just starting out. I'll also almost always join a league started by someone who has joined my leagues in the past. I tend to avoid random leagues, such as dahsdebater's 25-season league, but he's played in my leagues before so I certainly can return the favor.

To be fair to my league, I've had better draws and worse draws playing in the simmed version 5 times and now once here, but you never have a draw you can't build a solid team around.  There are some random leagues over on the simmed side where you can very easily be randomed into having no chance to play near .500.  I don't really think that would be possible in this league, at least not without some really terrible luck.

Care to add some names guys

Not me, no. Everyone who runs leagues knows who does and does not play the games regardless of record. And someone new enough not to know certainly can't be choosy about who he lets in if he's going to try running a league.

I play LIVE leagues, and I am typically at 125 - 150% of my games needed to qualify.  Last league...two teams, 80 games needed, and I played 100.  If anyone needed more games, I would be happy to play them.  Just site mail me, and I would figure out a way to get some more in.

I just love how certain guys are basically making themselves to be the keepers of LIVE play.  If the min. is 40 games, then why bother joining if the rest of us are considers losers for not playing 150 games?  Stay away from those leagues.  If guys are NOT making the min., then that is a valid complaint....but not all of us can spend that much time playing that many games.  We have these things called LIVES.  LIVE play IS DYING, and if you want to draw interest in it....this is NOT the way to go about it.  The End.  Flame on.

Agreed with Winner.  I join leagues just to fill them.....sometimes I'm in 12 or 15 at one time.  No way I can play 100 plus with every team.  I'm probably the all time WiS leader in missed playoff appearances because of the min not being made.  LOL.

I wish there was an Ipad/tablet app.  I'd play a whole helluva lot more games, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I don't belong on the list, I try to play in as many leagues as I can fit in to help them run and because I like to build teams.  I usually make the min (I've missed a few playoffs for missing mins, but typically I make them regardless of whether my teams are good or not), but I seldom crush it.

All the guys listed are good owners, and all of them play a TON more games than needed to qualify.  More power to them.....If I win the lottery, and don't have to work 12 hour days ever again, or take care of my kids, shave, have friends......then SURE!  I will put two teams in every league and play all day.
