This is a place for peace and tranquility.  A place to discuss the good times.  What have been your favorite times in HD?  The best seasons, players, posts. threads, etc...  That or just add some positive vibes.

as much as the potential release was somewhat of a disaster, i really enjoyed when it came out and we had to learn something totally new. it was a lot of fun trying to pick that all up as fast as possible. without being able to practice plan your way to whatever shape of players you needed, it was so different, you had to pick out guys, and project them out 2-3 years ahead along with the whole team, make sure they fit and everything. i thought that was sweet.

also starting d1 for the first time, that was crazy. the intensity of recruiting compared to d2/d3, back when d2/d3 were much less competitive in recruiting than they are today... that was something. i was instantly hooked. i still enjoy the game theory aspect of d1 recruiting a lot, to this day. there are some downsides to d1 but man when i started d1 recruiting, that was the ****.

my first (and only) #1 draft pick

my favorite player ever and the leader of my only national championship team (and the #2 all-time scorer in Rupp D2)

my only D2 player ever drafted (#33) (NOT Johnny Fox, the player in the last example oddly enough) and the #13 all-time leading scorer in Knight D2 (#4 is also my guy, and he was fantastic too!)

Some random thoughts that come to my mind are:

Winning my only title with a team of almost all A FT (pre-potential). Had 2 losses all year and both to conference mate tracyr.

My only contribution to the game was something about BH and tempo.

But my mostest favoritest useless factoid is two of my children got married AND divorced during my HD career.

A close second would be a tricycle pic.

Happy times...finding Robin Moore on a rarely-done 2AM  cycle and having him become Oberlin's all-time leading scorer. My run to the NT Championship game. Really, my whole career at Oberlin, where we're 2nd all-time in D3 wins in Knight.

Not-so happy times...my 18-31 NT record.

I made the National Championship game in DII Smith in my first season with Minnesota, Duluth, but with mostly other people's recruits.

THEN, I made the National Championship game with the same team three seasons later, but with MY recruits.

I still don't have a National title to my name, but knowing I did it with my own guys the second time was very satisfying.

that's a nice player!

He's more efficient because he's going inside to score.

That's some absurd efficiency right there. Wow!

But how often do you see a guy 15th nationally in scoring and 2nd in FG%. Normally if a player is taking a lot of shot their FG% isn't going to be as high since they will probably be forcing a lot of things.

Conklin is ridiculous. 22ppg and 62% shooting is tough to beat.

Donald Parks
has been a little like that for me.  He RS'd his 1st year, so he really hasn't changed dramatically since his Soph season.  I keep giving him more shots and his 3pt% keeps going up.  He's even cut down on the TOs this season with more shots and minutes.

Sorry therewas I didn't see this when I posted my topic, but whatif has been with me through a great stretch of life. I first got into it my Freshmen year of college 4 years ago, but the excitement of staying up until 2:30 AM for a huge game was awesome. Keep in mind I didn't win any of those games, but it was still fun. Also since I attended the University of Kentucky the first time I scheduled UK during my tenure at Davidson and beating them at Rupp Arena when I was a D- prestige and they were an A- is something that ill always remember.

Sad times. I've referred like 7 people and keep forgetting to give them my damn email address so I get no credit!!!!
