How much importance do you place on this stat?

I ask because I've been screwing around with formulas since the beginning of HBD.    I used OPS as the "go to" stat up until about the last three months or so.  But, since then, I've been messing around with a ratings formula for RC27.    It's a lot less complicated than the others and, quite honestly, it seems to more accurately predict, at least consistently, the best on my team and the best in the world.

That said, "extreme" players don't quite work with it.   These two seem to outperform their ratings(using my formula):

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Juan Ferrer
Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Cesar Aneury

Ferrer has the 90+ splits and Aneury has the 90+ VL and eye.

I rate guys on their ratings. To many factors come in to play as far as ranking a players value based on stats..

They're ranked based on ratings to achieve the stat.   Recently, I've been using RC27 as the stat I hope to achieve.

Aneury has led the team by a substantial margin in RC27 in both of his full-time seasons.    He's up there based on the ratings but he's just playing way above his head using my formula.

Ferrer has led the team the last two seasons and he should be closer to 4th-5th on the team(he was third 3 seasons ago and that was close enough).

Just get the high OVR guy and win.

I'm surprised so many place no importance on RC27.   Regardless of what stat(s) you use to determine who's producing, the top RC27 players are going to be right there.

I always look at RC27, and give some importance to stats. Ratings aren't everything. Sometimes you just can't ignore in-game stats.

Stats like OPS are just "easier" to find, as silly as that sounds.  When I click on a player page, OPS is there, but not RC27.  When I click on league leaders or team stats, I need an extra step to change it to extended stats.  Again, I know that sounds silly.

I also have a better grasp, at least in my head, on what a good OPS is.  A .850 OPS is a very good OPS.  What's the equivalent RC27?

RC27 may be a "better" stat - maybe I should look at it more.

I like to incorporate stolen bases into my offense, so OPS doesn't give the whole picture, while RC27 includes SB and CS.

Like everything, it depends on the world but, in my experience, 7+ will put them in the top 20 in the world.

Is the HBD RC and RC27 true stats? I found an "easy"  RC formula -- OBP * SLG * AB -- and those results were a lot less than the HBD #'s. I tried to follow a formula that included SB and CS, but those #'s seemed really high.

Anyone willing to share an RC27 formula for education?
