You may be the biggest <profanity>ass</profanity> hole that has ever played this game. I have played it for years and have never had anyone play the game the way you did, coming in on the last cycle and taking recruits. You have totally ruined my team anyway so for the next few cycles I will wait until the very end and take every recruit you have. I will have the money to do it playing in a big conference so you might as well chalk it up as fact because it will happen. Just can't believe anyone would do such a thing. I am glad to recruit against anyone but people just don't do those kind of things to people. Oh well it will be fun screwing you over for the next few cycles.



I laughed when I got it, but isn't something like this against fair play? Should I send in a ticket and see what they say, or wait to see if he really tries? I've never lost a recruit in div I and I know I've <profanity>pissed</profanity> off my share of people recruiting the way I do, but this is the first time a coach has said they will target me ;p

I think this is laughable, every coach should try and make their team better. It doesn't even matter if you didn't recruit until the end or you had the entire recruiting period... Until they sign they are free to anyone. I have never dealt with it but see what happens next recruiting period.

A brief run down of what happened. I just moved and looked at the date to return, and I mistakenly thought the signing begin was recruiting begin. So at 4pm my time I logged in to start my recruiting, scouting etc. I noticed there was no undecided players and double checked when it began. Sure enough, I had 20 minutes to do something before signings started. I was on my cell phone which makes matters worse, so I found 5 guys (needed 4) and sent about 10k each figuring this would prevent them from signing other then 2 undecideds that I spent 1000 each on. The 2 undecideds I had locked up, then 1 guard started considering me + this coach, a PF who was only considering me and kicked the coach off and the 5th signed with Michigan and refunded my money. So I had 3 considering just me and the guard considering me and him. He was in 2 battles he couldn't win so just to be safe I put about 5k into both and they signed.

I'm guessing the coach with the issue hasn't been in D1 too long.

Hes at B+ BCS school. I guess if he wants a B- mid major recruits go for it. They've got me into the NT 4 times in 12 seasons. I can win with lesser talent. He'd be throwing money away by wasting time destroying a bcs school.


Hes just upset that he lost 4 players to 3 different coaches.

Oh man I wish I knew who it was... I wouldn't expect that from someone at a B+ BCS school.

Well, there are seven B+ BCS schools in the world. If we discount the coaches with fewer than four open scholarships (not a certain feature, but if he lost four players, he's either spreading himself so thin even I, who's never played D1, can see it, or he has a bunch of open scholarships), who stayed out of nipps' recruiting territory, and who coach Michigan (based on Michigan being mentioned by name in this post), we are left with only one school--a school that only has one signee for four open scholarships and no one considering them. I don't know if one of my educated guesses for criteria were wrong, but I do know where I'd put my money.

hah yeah. I think you got it right. He was losing vrs butler and indiana. Spread himself way to thin. But like I said it wasn't really my plan, I just missed when recruiting started and had 20 minutes to react.

But the real question is is this allowed? I know technically he could go after my recruits and it be *okay* because recruits are fair play until they sign, but sense he said this was his plan if he went after all of my guys and only my guys would WIS do something about it like put them on my team? I think I heard that is what they did before, but wasnt sure

Well, there was the dshook situation a few weeks ago where he complained about being targeted and WIS said there was no evidence of targeting. I guess that indicates targeting is against the rules? I'm not sure what the rule is though, I can't find it. 

But in that case, WIS only did something about it because it was one user using two teams

Well, I'd say there are two items in the Fair Play Guidelines that may be applicable here, particularly the 2nd one:

-Owners should always be polite and gracious when dealing with one another. Threats and obscenities are not only against the Rules, they are illegal in many jurisdictions. Owners that are found to have made threatening comments to another owner will be warned and/or kicked out of the game completely.

-Impeding other owners: Certain transactions made solely to impede other owners are not allowed. For example, protesting a trade merely to help someone else is strictly prohibited.
