i want to put $100 on the line.  at least, maybe more.  to lure in coaches to my conference.  good coaches, so tmacfan14 stay away (yes i am dating myself)

so i need elite coaches. . . .
and i need advice on how to do lure them in. . . . .

here's what i have so far.   I need three coaches.  it will be a competition amongst just the three of them.  i'm figuring between 4-6 seasons.  they all take over a program in the same division of the same conference.  whoever has the best record after 4-6 seasons gets the prize.  it could be a proving ground for three coaches that all think they are the best.  i might even pay for their first season.

let me know any thoughts.  both if you are an elite coach that would be interested.  or if you are a sh*tty coach like myself.  and just have some advice

maybe a $25 bonus for winning the conference.  $100 bonus for going undefeated.  sh*t like that

one big thing.  i don't care if you have 15 NT titles at DI.   it may be tougher to win in DI.  but DIII is a different breed.   so success at the DIII level is a must for entry into this little shindig

This actually seems interesting, of course you would have to look at my other ID to see my D3 success. But on my last D3 team I won 4 titles, went to 6 title games I believe and had a stretch where I went to 4 straight title games (2-2). Obviously I'm not the most successful D3 coach of all time but coupled with my D1 success, I think I fit the bill of elite.

I'll vouch for Kmason's D3 success in SoCal Knight.

mrpolo, for that 8 upperclassman stipulation that's for season 6 when the prize is determined only? Or for the other years as well? I still don't love that limitation...

I would be interested but I am in S. Cal in Wooden... plus I don't know if I would qualify as an "elite coach"

I'd be interested. Though not sure I am quite elite.

i'm not looking to steal coaches away from wooden

i'm still taking ideas

what i want is a level playing field though.  it would be easy for a coach to blow out a team and have a superclass.  and give themselves a good chance at $100

also, i'm hoping to retain coaches here.  not just have a contest.  i know that might not happen.  so i'm looking for teams to be left balanced and in good shape to win right away.  an elite coach will have a solid team set up and ready to win.  its tough to draw the line, so thats what i have so far

6 SR
3 JR

5 SR
4 JR

7 SR

all these combos seem a bit overboard to me.  thats why i have the numbers set where they are.  i even think 6 SRs is a bit much.  but going to 5 seems a bit  harsh.

so thats where i'm at.  throw some thoughts out.  as for class requirements in season 1-5.  let me think about it.

your milsap team looks solid.  i'lll put you down for now and see what other coaches are interested.  no one is in for sure.  the rules are still being discussed.  but if you're interested.  just keep checking in on this thread.  and throw in some feedback if you wish

mmmmmaybe

I have 2 titles in 17 seasons at D3. The only D3 team I stuck with for more than a season I won titles with in seasons 6 and 10, in a very difficult conference.

I may have had something to say about kmason's little dynasty there if I stuck around past season 13 but I have since set my sights on a D1/D2 titles. So far, 0-1 in D2 NC games.

Sounds good. I just came off a title year and lost my best 4 so the roster is a little off the norm, but they are improving.

I get ya, although my track record shows that most of the team my teams that I leave continue to do well at least until my recruits all split.

This would be for after this coming season I'm guessing? If I take Hamilton I'll keep the 2 current jrs and whichever of the crappy sophs has the best potential left over, but unless they have good potential most of the rest of the team is not great, so I'll cut most of them. Its the kind of situation where I can usually shape a 6-0-6-0 class structure, which should qualify, so that'll work...
