32 minutes each????  probably a waste of minutes getting above somewhere in the 25 range.  I usually use 21 or 22

i've found that 26 minutes each (off/def) gets my players to A+ (or really close) by conference tourney their senior season. And 25 gets them to A...of course, there are always one or two w/ lower WE that never get better than A- w/ 26 minutes. Running FB/FCP seems to need that little extra effort, in my experience.

32 is about 10 too many.  crazyivan, yours sounds high too.  Then again, I don't run FB/FCP.  Is there really that much of a difference in IQ development between different offensive/defensive sets?  I was under the impression that there was no difference.

Llama, I wouldn't say there is a difference in development, and I agree hose minutes are too high ...

But I do think iq is a bit more important for press than other defensive sets.

I use 25 minutes and my seniors usually all end up A+

i tried 25 minutes for a few seasons, but felt like i lost too many games i shouldn't have...then again, it may just be a comfort thing.

Okay, I get that distinction, thanks.

For most players, I'm pretty sure anything north of 20 will get them to A+ by the end of their senior year.  *Just* over the line into the A+ range, but it'll get there.

I usually range from 20-30 depending on the youth of my team and the needs of my team.  If I am trying to develop skills (rebounding, perimeter, etc.) I spend less time on IQs.  If I have a team with 6 seniors who are basically maxed out on skills, I spend more time on IQ.

i do 20-25 without a lot of thought to it, depending vaguely on how much growth my players have

Has the theory that high GPA increases IQ growth rate ever been confirmed or denied? I've seen this in passing, and always been curious about it.

22 minutes each without a second thought. If I just took over a team or am changing O or D that may adjust things.

pkoopman, current GPA has no effect on IQ growth rate, HIGH SCHOOL GPA does.

In d1 I'm really trying to get my guys high IQs so I usually start the season around 22 or 23 and then try to bump it up as the season goes on.
IQ still isn't capped right?

No cap on IQ -- theoretically every player is capable of reaching the A+ level if they had enough time.

Does that also mean they can get a ridiculously high A+? That was my understanding at least maybe I'm wrong.
