Early decline? Updates? Topic

28 year old player, 20m training, no injury... between seasons he lost a point in range and a point in arm strength... 76 makeup. Unusual right?

Had he played the previous season or did he sit on the inactive list?

That did us a lot of good

I don't know how to link players... When I have tried before it has not worked. 142 games, 560 ab. 20 games 80 ab in the post season, and no transactions at all the past season.

The recent update did include the following:

  • A few other prospect-player development adjustments we'd prefer not to explicitly detail.*
It's possible a slight early decline could be due to that.

Yeah, not that I could have made it any less clear, but I was in part alluding to that

Ive noticed far more in season declines, sometimes drastic, since the update.

Not to be contrarian but I started noticing a few seasons ago, some players - mine and others I was scouting - start dropping a point here and there off defensive ratings as early as 28.  Nothing drastic, so I figured it was just part of the programming.

We're told to expect changes, so we notice declines that 2 months ago might not have stood out. If there is a slight increase in volatility from the update, it will appear exaggerated because every change will be atrributed to the update even if 80% of them would have occurred before. Could be Training, could be Coaching, could be the Update. The Update is new, so that's going to be the assumed cause. It could be in this case, but it's not as though a 28-yo declining never happened before. Without taking the time to analyze it statistically over a large sample size, there's no way to know how many spikes are from the update vs. same old, same old.

The player in question has low Health/Patience and high Temper, all of which make his development more volatile with or without the update. But with rounded numbers, 1 point is insignificant (could have been 84.504 to 84.493).

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Steve Washington   Realizing it's pointless to link a player to show decline but 1 in range between S32 and S33.   Two in range between S33 and S34.

That is a great question.

It's not a max deal, dumbasses.   Does that answer your question?
