Can somebody help me understand game planning against an opponent. I'm trying to figure out how to set up the most efficient lineup against quality opponents. Any insights? Is it safe to assume that if I have a player who has 99 on defense he should be shutting down who he is guarding?.

Are you man to man? What's his speed and arhletics?

I am man to man...Athleticism 92 and speed 49...

I thought your name was cheesecannon. I saw it and thought "man that's an awesome name".

You're talking about Bell? How come he only plays about 5 mpg? Seems like his speed is pretty slow for a guard and his bh/pass are weak but I think he could play some SF even though he has no reb. Could still play good def at that position. Or move him around to match up with their scorer.

I only play him sparingly because his offense seems to be super bad especially for a point guard. What would you say my starting 5 should be Benis?
7/5/2016 3:43 PM
I've been trying Robinson and Gonzales at the PG because of their ball handling and passing ability

Listed position doesn't mean anything, Bell is a SF.

You're best lineup is probably something like:

Gonzalez, Robinson Bell Conway Rodgers

You don't really have any true point guards you want to hit around 140 combined bh/pas

The only other thing I would say is schedule much easier, you are hurting yourself playing home games against sims, and the humans you play are either too strong or hurt your schedule. You don't have the talent to win the CT so you are going to need to get an at-large bid by scheduling good and inflating your rpi/sos. You want to get 10 away games preferably all sim with large rising jr/sr classes as they should be wins for th emost part and will make you look good. Teams like Wheeling Jesuit and Oklahoma Panhandle state are horrible matchups sure they are wins but they are terrible wins. Scheduling guys like long_ge too he is a great coach and right now will always put forth a much more talented team that your chances of winning are going to be very small

For recruiting make sure you are getting players that can contribute guys like Trent/Egan/Johnson don't really have a position. You have 1 guy that is a PG but he is mediocre D3 talent, look at some of the top teams especially the ones you play in conference and look at their ratings for players you need to aim much higher and focus on getting blue potential guys, NC is a good spot to be in you should be able to get some good talent, you want to aim for better ath/spd/def across the board and get better guard skills and some offense if you want to build a consistently talented team at D2. Also look at some farther states like NE/SD/AK/HI/ID they might not have a lot of recruits but they also have fewer schools and usually you can get some good players

Yup, what Only just said.

If a guy doesn't have the necessary skills for one position then see what he does have the skills for and move him around to the right spot. Just cause hes a poor guard doesn't mean he can't contribute in other ways. His offense prob won't be great but just don't give him the ball and let him play D.

0-54 in the past 2 seasons says that is not working.

Do I need to clarify in the beta? I am in a REBUILD and changing teams this job period. I didn't bother gameplanning this season. But in the beta I have been using 3 point setting of 0 and copying opponets who are equal to me and its working..

so 11-43 still in the beta before you ruin it with you're own players, stop trying to give people advice you are the last person who should be giving advice.

heads up for anyone else please make sure you don't take anything from coachward he's entertaining but if you don't know yet ignore any advice he gives.

Yeah, he kinda drives me nuts! Why don't you use your best tactics in the real world not just the beta?

Ward, after 2 seasons of getting your own players in, you should be able to win at least 1 game against a 300 RPI team and be out of a rebuild. But what have you done? You have gotten worse each year, you made a sim team worse. Stop giving advice to people until you have made the NT with your own players.
