Dowling division 2 allen Topic

Hi guys, I am going to cut 6 players once I take the job and am wondering what recruits should I go after division 1 prospect? Maybe keep 6 sims to have a 6/6 format for 10 sasons. Yes that is what I am going to do. I plan on going there for 10 seasons and moving on to division 1. I plan on doing Triangle/Zone (2-3) with my team how much recruting cash is it with 6 cut players leaving 6 division 1 possible prospects. What positions should I go after with division 1 prospects. Or should I just go after versatile players. Thanks all input is deeply appreciated.

You don't get any money for people that you cut. If you cut 6 guys you won't get any money for them.

CoachWard, if I stay in DII in Allen, we should definitely play each other in exhibition.

I just took a look at Dowling, and I have a lot of questions for you. They all revolve around 1, why the heck are you taking over Dowling?

1. The team sucks, you can take a team with better players. 2. If you are starting from scratch and taking a bad team, why not take a team that already runs the offense and defense you want to switch to? Dowling currently run a Flex/Man. There are more than 10 teams that run Triangle/Zone available. 3. If you want to scrap the team, why would you take over a team that only has 1 scholarship? You won't have as much recruiting money.

Your plan makes no sense.

While I'm sure I won't get real answers to the questions I posed. I'm feeling helpful, and can take it one step further. I'm going to suggest teams that meet your criteria, way better than Dowling.

Just trying to help, based on what you claim you want to do.

But you decide in the end.

Good luck!

You would be committing suicide since Dowling only has one senior. As noted, you get no extra money for cutting players, so you'd basically be putting yourself in a position recruit 6 on the cash of 1 player and minimal postseason cash.

That doesn't sound fun to me. I'd re-assess the plan.

I couldn't find out what they play, I thought if you cut players you get the recruting cash that is permitted per scholarships? What do you mean they all revolve around 1?

Took a look at all the teams, Nebraska, Omaha seems like the best fit so I am going to apply to that school. I struck out on Ouachita Baptist last night. They said that they wanted one with a "winning atmosphere".

Theonlyis didn't leave but it wasn't like I was going to get the team anyhow. Clark Atlanta is reserved I guess it didn't show up on the job per listing. Dowling was a team I scouted prior to all this nonsense that is happening now. So I am going to withdraw the job application to Dowling thanks. I am also adding Neberaska Omaha to the destinations list.

So the three destinations are the folowing
1. Nebreska Omaha
2. Lane
3. Concord

Lane and Concord both play Triangle. I don't want to build to much so that is part of the reason I applied to them. They are small conferences as well that is another plus. Nebreska Omaha I am not qualified for.

I did leave, but if you couldn't get pther jobs you sure aren't getting the bes D2 job out there.

Also why the hell would you run a 6-6 triangle/zone team that is the worst idea ever.

You don't get money for cutting players ever

I would not take a location that is so "bad" especially at your talent level, taking Nebraska is just asking for even more 0-27 seasons, Lane/Concord are a bit better

What is the best prestige D2 job you can take?

If you are limited by prestige take something like Seattle already runs triangle 2-3 zone, good amount of schollies open and it's a weak conference, if you want to run triangle 2-3 zone your best bet is running a 3-3-3-3 structure and redshirt someone every season\

I still think D3 is where you should stay you couldn't win games there and now moving up a division the talent gap between you and everyone else is just going to be even more drastic, find an empty D3 conference and enjoy it there D2 will just give you the record for most consecutive 0-27 seasons and put you in contention with reigny for most "intriguing HD coach" Why not take something like Wisconsin River Falls? triangle zone good spot not a tough conference

From the FAQ:

Q: If I rescind a scholarship during the recruiting period, will I get additional money added to my recruiting budget?
A: No.

That means if your new team has only a single opening and you begin cutting players, you don't get any additional recruiting cash to sign recruits to those openings.

The best division 2 job I can get is C+, I am not qualified for Nebraska so they will turn me down. I look at Seattle and I am not qualified for that either. A 3-3-3-3 structure will be ideal so I will have to decide between 6-6 or 3-3-3-3. I'll apply to Wisconsin River Falls as well let me rescind that job offer to Nebraska.

I am going to take either Lane or Miles. The southern Conference I will be all alone! That is the conference I really want to be in.

First, I wouldn't run zone if I were you. Second, you can't do a 6-6-0-0 structure while running zone. The biggest advantage to zone is you only need 8 or 9 players on your roster at any given time because your stamina goes so much further than in press or man defenses. Zone with 12 guys means some players won't get any playing time and will transfer, thus throwing the 6-6-0-0 structure out the window.

Dowling is 8-20, so it's probably as high as he can go since he was 0-27... Am I right Coach? If not, go for Clarion U.
