in 2.0 there was a limit to the number of early entries you could lose.
You would not lose more than 6 total players unless you had more than that number of seniors.
ex- if you had 3 seniors, the max number of total ee's you would lose was 3; 4 seniors was 2, etc. 6 players left on the roster unless you had walkons. My teams had a lot of experience with ee's, so I knew the rule well, often having 5 ee's and zero seniors.

Its apparently not that way any more. And I've been told that rule never existed.
Q- what was the exact rule?
Q2- am I crazy remembering it this way? What am I missing? They claim they had no such rule.

Either way, I'm screwed in this new system as I just lost seven and there is no one to recruit left. I guess the changes are doing their job and punishing the rich. I just didn't think they'd add insult to injury by changing the rule quietly.

senior transfers didnt count in 2.0 - so you could lose 7 if one had come to your team as a one season senior transfer - was that what happened? thats the only exception I know.

Seems like there should be some limit.

Your CS person was clueless :

The following is from KB Article 762:
All players are ranked based on ratings, national awards (e.g. All-American team), team success, division, and prestige. Underclassmen then make their decision based on where they project combined with their current class. So a sophomore would require a higher projection than a junior in order for them to leave for the draft.

Also, teams cannot lose any further early entries once they've lost 6 total players (seniors + other early entries). However, players signed as senior transfers no longer count in the number of seniors. This change was put in to close the loophole where coaches were signing bench warmer one-year transfers to avoid early entries.

The guys was clueless with his explanation. But at least you guys know the rules better than them ???? thanks. This sucks. The culling has begun. I will go from multiple multiple finals appearances over the last 30 seasons to only five players on next year's team plus whatever schmucks I can add from the leftover 20% of recruits. Awesome.

can I ask a basic question - when you have guys go EE, I know you get the Attention Points for those slots.

Do you also get extra $$ for scouting and recruiting during the 2nd recruiting period?

hard to tell if the ship has multiple steering wheels or no steering wheel at all.

Yes
The problem is you cant put them to use fast enough before the "late" players sign with someone else

Bingo.
I get cash...
but second cycle just started.
I have 120 AP's now (very few in first session as I didn't need many players) & 5 openings.
But before APs will actually credit to the point I can open up schollie offer, etc, signings will start back up.
Since there are only really 5-6 players in the whole world left worthy of playing for an A+ team, and all of them are considering someone, I'm gonna guess a few of these will sign before I can even offer a schollie, let alone HV or campus visit.
ill also be behind the battle for everyone.

Ill let you know how it plays out.
I hope to sign 3 guys and take two walkons. Then get penalized for walkons next season which will be another fun prize.
Id rather have that than bad players I'm saddled with for four years though.

Right .. they need a longer second session with several turns at the beginning with no signings.

I propose THIS

Let's get the coaches to look at it .. like or dislike it and let's work up something we submit to WIS as a solution rather than just telling them we don't like it. That link is my first attempt to address the issues.

Wow, it's worse than I thought.
Before any of my AP's could even register, or before any recruiting actions could register, pretty much 2/3 of the remaining decent players signed.
There needs to be a single day where AP's can at least register so I have a chance.
I hope to sign a single good player with my five openings. And I'm as high of a prestige as you can get.

Stew it's almost as if they designed a system intentionally to destroy your team and everything else is just collateral damage. 2nd session recruiting is way too hard for making up ground, I would say impossible but I'm sure there is 1 good recruit that can be had, it's just blind luck finding the one guy that will wait til the end to sign.

I think it is clear that WIS didnt care about disruption to teams with multiple EEs in the transition. They were told emphatically it would be awdul for teams like stews and other strong teams

I think the problem is worse than stew states. I dont see a way to get DI playable players in his situation - let alone players of his customary elite status

note - I am not saying that a team with say 4 regular openings and 2 EEs cant take action in the first session to open up reasonable players for immediate session 2 action. It is possible - if unduly hard.

What is impossible is to have one open slot for the first cycle and use those AP to open up reasonable DI players to fill 3-4 spots when you habe 5-6 guys at different positions who may go EE

the transition is intentionally devastating. They knew it, were told and didnt care

24 hours in to the second session of recruiting.
I had an influx of 5 scholarships and that money/ APs.... so I had a lot of resources comparatively.
I have the virtual highest possible prestige, coming off a national championship or runner up each of the last few seasons.

Every player I went after signed with another team before I could get them to seriously consider me.
I promised PT, starts, etc.
I might sign one 2 star juco transfer and that's all. With five openings. I will have 4 openings if I can get this Jc to sign.
Lost recruiting battles to SE Louisiana, AL (never could get the AP's registered for that one), AZ (not enough time to register), and Northern Illinois. Preferences were all good, locations all relatively near except an international.

Keep in mind I have won the national championship 7 of the last 13 years and I can't sniff a one star player.

Congrats Hoops Dynasty.
You achieved your goal. One Dynasty down... (if you can't beat them- change the rules!) where the name of the game/ goal is to create a dynasty,
i could take getting slowly dismantled with an evened out playing field/ recruiting changes.
But honestly this sucks as I literally had zero chance to even compete for recruits and they knew it ahead of time and liked it... even flaunting that they knew it was an issue but didn't care.
