Looking at the top 25 in Tark, with one game left in the regular season. Nine of the top 25 teams are not from Big 6 conferences. I am sure this is partially due to a fair amount of Big 6 openings, but it's still cool to consider a non big 6 team having a chance at a title. But I am stopping short of rooting for one, unless my Georgia Tech team gets knocked out. There are also 6 teams that are not in the Big 6 that are in the top 25 in overall team rating.

- Central Florida. perennial power loaded with former owner trizzo's recruits.
- East Carolina. perennial power under ppk700.
- UNLV. perennial power under palyak.
- Campbell. perennial power under catswin.

of these, UCF to the Elite-8 went the farthest, and San Diego State got to Sweet 16.
Biggest first round upset was by 15-seed Northern Arizona.

Non B6 teams are getting better and better for sure.

Just look at the top 100 signings. A lot are going to non B6 in all worlds.

I think this is stupid Chap. (Just my opinion).

It used to be like this and I even won a DI NC at freaking Eastern Illinois. But if you are gonna create a system where ANYONE can win a NC, then what is the purpose of even having DI (vs DII) other than the fake "name" on your school.

DI is supposed to be a different animal where you should aspire to get to a school that can even win a NC. Not everyone gets a participation trophy in DI. Unfortunately Seble was part of the participation trophy generation.

I would certainly agree with you if the final four was filled with those kind of teams every year. But, teams like Wichita State, VCU, Valparaiso, Gonzaga, and even Houston and UNLV from 25-35 years ago happen. Usually one or two of these teams (or teams like them) make it to the sweet 16 and/or one to the elite 8 most seasons IRL. So, having the ability for that to happen at a similar rate in HD is good IMHO.

Again, if 2 or 3 of the final 4 teams are routinely these none big 6 teams, that would certainly be an issue.

For the record, I looked in all 10 worlds, and so far for the last 2 seasons (when 3.0 started), there have been no non big6 teams in the final 4. Obviously we need another 3 or 4 seasons where all the players from all the teams are replaced and prestige has been adjusted before we can make true analyses. But so far, nothing like Cleveland State in the D1 final 4.

So 3 teams not in the big6 .. and 3 other teams that just moved into a new big east that were low level programs before: Xavier, Butler, Creighton. This seems very much aligned with what chapel posted to me.

There are now 5 non Big 6 teams in the Sweet 16. Unfortunately Denver plays Miami of Ohio in one of the rounds. I play Weber State with my Georgia Tech team, and they are definitely not to be taken lightly.

There are three in the final 8 - Tennessee Tech, Denver and Weber State, which took us out last night.

Coaching Snafu... It does have an impact. I planned the gane, but against FSU, I did not find an optimal solution.
