Reducing effort for unlocking scholarships Topic

I'd like to see the effort required for unlocking scholarships lowered to where it would be maybe 10-20 AP instead of what it is currently, which, even for an A+ prestige is like 50-60 for top players. I think this would allow teams to go after more players. I think that it should still take a long time for D2 and D3 teams to unlock D1 players though.

Agreed. The unlock feature is an artificial, unrealistic barrier created to turn recruiting into more of a "draft." And it works to discourage battles, which I think is counterproductive. One of the best things about 3.0 is the increase in battles. You need a low barrier to entry if you want a lot of battles.

I'm agnostic, gameplay will adjust either way. But we should understand it's all relative. If scholarships are easier to unlock, essentially reducing the impact of APs, there are going to be lots more frustrated coaches as teams jump into battles faster, and with less investment.

It isnt DI welfare or DIII welfare. Loaded word, signifying nothing.

The actual question lurking in the empty rhetoric is how large should be the advantages of DI over DIII about which views may reasonably differ,

In the extreme case, we would have just one division, not use the names of actual schools and just name our own hoops dynasty teams all of which would compete on equal basis.

I truly think AP is not worth that much and should not be worth more than it is. Spud D2, D3 don't need to compete with D1, already have D1 talents available.. D1 needs more options.

The biggest issue I have seen for D1 recruiting is during period 2 and it's much tougher to go after backup options. I'd rather have D1 guys fall earlier in P1 than have false hope they could be signed in P2 when they have only D2/3 on them. Or maybe find a way to have a day before signings start again in P2 to allow for some more fluidity.

Just had to change lanes on the last day of recruiting due to a redshirt issue. Put 40 APs into a guy, 95% unlock on the scholarship, can't offer in the final cycle. Huge bummer.

The point of taking a long time to unlock was preventing people from swooping in at the last second and poaching. I actually like this feature and don't want it changed.

That said, I have been vocal in my belief that recruiting session 2 needs a couple non-signing cycles to unlock actions for teams with EEs or job changes

A couple non signing cycles and a couple more cycles to unlock players.

Simply transferring the problem of one user to another user.

+100000000 I like this idea, it would have solved the issue I had with changing to Virginia Tech.

I said this somewhere else but they do need at least a day of non-signing.

It's like real life so WIS shouldn't object too much.
