Recruiting question Topic

More of a timing question than a strategy question.

I just took over a dIII team with 1 senior. I'm hoping to cut 1 player and sign 2 this offseason. Is this still possible? And if so, what's the best way to go about it?

Is it before recruiting session 2? If so, you just have to go to "manage roster" and rescind a scholly.

Recruiting just started yesterday. Season is still in progress.

Definitely feasible. Juco's take an incredible low amount of effort for what it's worth.

Check your world schedule to see when you can cut players. After that you can sign players in recruiting session 2. Good luck recruiting!! Much success to you!

Go to Manage Roster under your office tab, and any player with the rescind tab next to him, can have his scholarship revoked. You will only get partial AP and Cash for him, but recruit your own guys I say.

Under the Coaching tab, not the Office tab. Sorry for the original bad information.

If you are new to HD, feel free to site mail me with any questions. I am not an elite Coach, but never afraid to give you an answer if you need one.

I appreciate all the responses. I thought it was feasible, but I wanted to be sure before I started. Didn't want to operate like I was going to get 2 guys when I could only get 1.

Hey y'all. I'm in the same boat. To clarify, I can't cut players until right before session 2, right? This means that, if I technically have zero scholarships to give, I can't sign anyone until session 2?

This is the schedule in Smith. All games, tourney included, have been played.
Monday 5/8 11:59 PM Job change period ends
Tuesday 5/9 2:00 AM Player rescind scholarship start
8:00 AM Recruiting period 2 starts
5:00 PM Recruiting period 2 Attention Points processing starts

Right, I see the world schedule too. My point is this. I have zero scholarships to give out, technically, but have offered two (important) recruits because I plan on cutting two of my players. Both of these players are being recruited by other colleges, too.

Since I technically have a full roster, neither of these two will be able to sign with me during this signing period, if I understand correctly. Both have a preference for signing early, so I'm concerned both/either will choose the other college during recruiting period one because I am unable to take them.

Because of this, I just want to make 100% sure there's nothing I can do to get these guys to sign in the first period and that I have no choice but to wait until I can cut two players and then hope to sign both players in session 2.

No, you can't sign them until you cut your two players. You're a D3 so, if you're recruiting D1/D2 players, you can't sign them until 2nd session anyway. If the schools on them are D1/D2 schools, I'd look elsewhere.
3/30/2017 1:20 PM
They're both rated for D3. And the "Player rescind scholarship starts" is when I'd kick my current players, right? I know it might seem obvious, but just want to confirm. :)
3/30/2017 1:23 PM
Yes. Has anyone offered scholarships to them?
3/30/2017 1:29 PM
I won't complicate it for you but you should probably consider D1/D2 players. Most, if not all, of the successful D3 schools have pulled down low level D1/D2 players.
