Benis, let's destroy a myth Topic

I am on a solid SF with lots of upside from the beginning. He is penciled as D1 player. I am a A+ D2 team : Pfeiffer.

Second cycle at 5, signing time, Pfeiffer at VH, Lander at H, Longwood at H, Memphis D+ (Benis) ar Low. Wake up this morning, Memphis signed the kid at 67 % to 33 % Pfeiffer. Other two were dropped to moderate both A- and uo teams.

I don't mind. I would be ****** to lose to a D2 but not D1. It's working as intented. If you lose to D2 at D1, your own fault. I poored a lot of resources to get him and I had good preferences.

I'm sorry daddy.

What myth are we busting?

That It is tough for a D1 team with low prestige to come back and grab a player from a D2 team in second session. I have heard so many times that it is hard, impossible, not enough time etc. I think you did pretty efficiently.

Well, my situation is a little bit different than maybe others. I know this is CRAZY awesome strategy I employed so prepare to be blown away.

I took over Memphis LAST season, not this season - which is what it looks like you're talking about.

I started with 3 openings this season and filled those 3 spots in RS1. I used most of my budget doing so but I also identified a few other recruits who were Late signers and I unlocked actions prior to end of RS1.

At the start of RS2, I cut 3 more SIMAI players so I got money for those 3 guys. I targeted three players at this point to go after. Prior to the 5pm cycle I decided to just throw about 5 HVs and promises towards Anthony Scott (your target) and see how much I could move the needle. I was hoping I could maybe get him somewhat cheaply so I could use my budget towards the other two guys. However, after the 5pm cycle, I only moved up to Low so I decided to bail on that third guy and only focus on two. I then sent everything I could towards Scott and another dude who had some D2s and D1s on him. In total I sent 19 HVs, 1CV, Promised start and 15 minutes to Scott - so basically maxed out. So even after nearly maxing out I didn't even knock you down to Moderate and it went to a dice roll.

By the way, the other guy I went for ended up in a 4 way dice roll and I got lucky and signed him too.

That guy I spent 20 HVs, start and 25 minutes.

So, was it impossible? No. Was it 'difficult'? Maybe that's not the right word but it certainly wasn't easy and it took some luck for it to work out. If I was taking over the team cold turkey then I wouldn't have been able to open actions on enough players in time and it wouldn't allow me to even send all the HVs, CV and promises. The key here is I had all RS1 to unlock actions on players that I could target in RS2.

It's no coincidence that I stayed at Very Low the entire RS1 and then jumped to Very High in RS2.

Hahaha sorry man! Honestly that was the most scholarships offered on one player by human coached teams that I've ever seen. I think he had 9 offers?

Well, I had the same invested... A bit less, 16 HV. But I was VG, VG, VG, G... and probably had more AP. So you definetly had a D1 level edge.

Well yeah I had a D1 edge. That's not new.

How AP did you have?

Did you promise start? What about CV?
2/28/2018 3:15 PM
CV, start, 20 minutes, 388 AP.
2/28/2018 3:36 PM
VG Wants to Play, VG Wants success, G Defense, VG Strong conf.
2/28/2018 3:37 PM
As the Lander coach, I was surprised to get knocked down to Moderate after pouring a lot of AP into Scott (over 700), though not surprised to lose out to a D1 program. I didn't do as many HVs (budgets were tight this year), so it looks like they carry much more weight than I previously thought.
