I decided to challenge myself and take over a D2 team that was 0 - 27 last season. Does anyone have any pointers on rebuilding?

Get as many of your own players in there as you can, ASAP. That's the most critical part in my eyes. Cut a bunch of those players and recruit some good D-I players, right off the bat.

Also, if you prefer other offense and defense sets than the ones the school currently runs.... change them now.

1st two pointers are spot on. Right now just focus on recruiting players with high potential and avoid battles. Start your freshmen and dont worry abt wins right away. Dont bite off more than you can chew with a strong non-conf SOS until a few seasons into the rebuild

All great points here. I’m probably stating the obvious but if you have minutes and starts to promise, why not scout the juco pool as well. Doesn’t have to be the cornerstone of your effort, but just one might give you a boost and balance your classes. Other than that all in on lower tier high potential guys and ride out a couple of rough seasons. Good luck to you rebuilds are fun! And for now you get to avoid all the dice roll drama and just build.

Unlock as many good D1 players as possible, since some will disappear late in the first round or possibly even the first cycle of the second round. I would unlock close to twice as many as you need. Good luck. Rebuilds are fun. Plus, it will not be hard to exceed the win total for last year, so you should be instantly better than you were last year.

Abuse the ability to offer starts and 20 minutes for your recruiting targets without having to worry about veterans who need PT, and offer them up to all of them. That will help you get some better players right off the bat. Good luck!

Bobby : next recruiting session, get at least 4 freshmen in. Waive low ath, low def sim recruits that are not juniors
