I'm not quite sure why this has came up to me recently, but I've had a couple coaches mention a HD Meet up for Cincinnati area coaches.

Maybe it's because I talk alot. And because of that, I'll be willing to lead the way with organizing things. As long as there is a decent amount of interest.

At this point, i'm looking for input from guys that participated in the last one a couple years ago (I was not around at that time). I'm looking for suggestions. (Grill out at a park, shoot some hoops, and have a few beers? "Top 6" tickets at a Friday Night Fireworks Reds home game? A bar night? Standing outside the WifS Headquarters and throwing eggs? Any place with A/C?)

As far as dates.... nothing is in stone yet of course. But I'd say some good target dates would be 7/28 or 8/4. Both are Saturday's. And that gives a month's notice as of now. If it needs to be pushed back, that's fine of course.

If interested, place your thoughts/ comments/ suggestions here. Even if I've already spoke to you, let the HD world hear your thoughts, not just me. If you participated in the last meet, please comment even if you're not interested this time. Tell us what you liked and didn't like about it, so we can improve things this time around. (Talking like this should make you all want to vote me into office at headquarters! I'll listen to the public, and I'll supply the demand!)

I'd like to see what kind of traction we can get with this. And I'll take the responsibility of preparing whatever we can decide on. But i need bodies. I need feedback. No one wants to organize a project that fails. So please be sincere. If we get enough movement, I'll set some deadlines for things and we'll make things official thru emails. But it all starts here. Talk to me world......

I would be interested for sure. I know for sure I would be unable to do 7/28.

Makes more sense to do it during basketball season and we could get together to watch a big game.

Summer is a little crazy with vacations and such.

I was mostly kidding. But it would be cool if there was a sports book nearby. Hang out one afternoon watching football/bball and bet on some games.

Another idea is for a happy hour type thing during the week. Nothing too crazy. Like Mully mentioned, weekends in the summer are tough.

So for the few guys that have responded up to this point, are we saying NO period? Or were the comments about basketball season just suggestions and wishful thinking?

Any date can be pushed back further if need be. I have a hard time believing that this can't happen simply because it's not basketball season. It's in-season year round here. I'm sure most of us are sports fans in general, not ONLY college basketball.

And who wouldn't want to put faces with names of friends/rivals? Don't act like you all don't have a subconscious mental picture of what each other look like in person.

True but i'm in favor of sitting around and bullshittin with friends that have similar interest. Having a beer. And also being able to ask questions in an instant, rather than wait for sitemail conversations that take days.

And my bubble isn't burst. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I just had some coaches mention this. It's happened before. And hanging out with some buddies isn't a grueling task or anything. I enjoy things like this in life. And I figured others might also.
