So I have come across an interesting case in recruiting. In the first session I saw human coached B prestige D1 team recruit several guys that I thought were not D1 caliber players, I thought this was odd. None of the players were offered scholarships for a good period of time, so I started to put AP into them to unlock scholarships and such. But, when I offered scholarships and even promised minutes I could not get above very low. So obviously there had been effort put in by the school, but no offered scholarship. I hesitate to put money into this recruit and since I can’t get off of very low I assume that the school wants the player and is just waiting for the scholarship offer. The players are offered scholarships before the end of the first session
Second session I have not had much success in recruiting. I have been forced to go to my backup options and without any scouting money to find new recruits I am forced to spend all of my money to battle with a D2 team for the only remaining decent guard recruit that doesn’t have a D1 team on them. I lose the battle. I scour my recruits for another option, and notice that the B prestige D1 team didn’t sign the guys that they were recruiting in the second session, when the guys were all first session preferences. I see that they had already filled all of their scholarships. I think “I am going to get these guys after all”. But then I look at the considering list, and all of the guys have a D3 team that I had never heard of before. It’s a team with a new coach, with a bunch empty scholarships, so a bunch of money. This team moves up to low, and because I don’t have any money left I can’t do anything about it. I notice that the D1 team is no longer human coached. Then I look to see where this mysterious D3 coach came from, and he came from the B prestige D1 school who was on them in the first session.
The D3 team is in Ohio, and every player he is signing is out west, where the D1 team was.
