Where were you and how did you feel when you saw that DJT won?

I was watching TV until 1AM ET. I could not believe it happened. I could not believe CNN and other networks could not believe it either. I actually laughed out loud several times. I thought he had it after he won Wisconsin.

What about the rest?

I shut off the ******* TV when it became apparent and went to bed.

It was very surreal. For just about everyone. I was very much against Hillary, so I sure wasn't upset. I was on the phone at 2am with my sister. We simply could not believe he pulled it off. Yeah, I ******* danced...there I said it. And at first i thought his candidacy was a joke. I really didn't think he was a conservative at all. He had been a liberal. But then so was Reagan, and Krauthammer. So I gave the guy a chance. Hillary sure wasn't gonna put conservatives on the bench, or fight for veterans. And 4 more years of high taxes wasn't gonna help the economy.

Had she ran on a platform similar to WJC, and hadn't had the server issue, she'd have won.

Nobody knew what we were getting with Trump. Since then, he still has a large chunk of America dead against him, but he has slowly won over many Never Trumpers and independents. He is probably in much better with Evangelicals since Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were confirmed. It is his Party now. I don't see anyone within the Party able to mount a challenge in 2020. The nomination is for now very much in the bag. Of course that could change. Hillary was supposed to be a shoo in twice before.

If Trump can continue to make gains with minorities, he will be tough to beat. He got 8% of the black vote. His popularity with them is currently at 36%. That should be a wakeup call for Dems. If they lose that major advantage, they are likely screwed, unless you can produce screaming women from a 3D printer...

Love him or hate him, he is doing what he said he would do. In that town, that is something long overdue...

1) Fight for veterans. Ok. That's why the ex-head of Marvel Studios is in charge of the VFW and Trump has made zero trips to troops overseas.
2) "high taxes".... I forgot we don't care about the deficit anymore. Bills always come due, ya know.
3) Oh, we knew what we were getting Trump. And we've got it alright.
4) "in much better with Evangelicals" yeah not sure he could've really wrung more from that cloth than he had because they follow anything with an R including a twice divorced serial adulterer who sneaks backstage at Teen USA contests, but sure?
5) It is his party now. Yup. Nothing to say about that one.
6) Gains with minorities ELOHEL Kanye doesn't speak for everyone.
7) "produce screaming women from a 3D printer" well, they kind've have....
8) "He is doing what he said he would do." Make friends with despots, separate families, be a tax cheat of epic proportions, side with enemies, use the office of Presidency to divide Americans, do his best to sweep a national tragedy in Puerto Rico under the rug, attack any and all forms of dissention and opposition, foment hatred of the press despite CNN and the NYT doing more than anyone to legitimize his campaign, lie more often than he breathes....yeah, he is doing what we thought.

"In that town, that is something long overdue" is my favorite talking point, as if the Republicans hadn't spent 6 years being obstructionists with no ideas of their own once they got power except "get money for the top 1%" and "durrr eff the libs." Great campaign strategy, real solid governing principles, seems to work with a nice subset of people. That subset: white males who think they're aggrieved because they're morons.

Don't hijack the thread.

I LOVE free speech, particularly from NEW Blood.
Some emoting, too. All for it.

Must not be the post of an old white man................

Literally no chance she retires before the new president is sworn in in 2021.

She is 85. We'll see.

She is 85. We'll see.
And she won't even be 88 yet when the new president is sworn in.

You think 85 is young? Every day is a blessing when your turn 85. I am ignoring your trolling because you're a moron.

I think that if she's fine at 85, she'll probably be fine at 87. I'm not particularly worried.
