All other ratings being equal which would you rather have for your PG position?

1. And it's not close.

To me, passing is the most important attribute for a PG. I might even put speed ahead of ball handling.

I’d put passing, speed, athleticism, and defense (not in order) in front of BH for a PG. I’d trade off one point in BH for one point in any of those categories.

I used to think 2 was the better PG type but I am with pallas on this one, am starting to think passing is more important...

That being said, it also depends on your opponent. If they run a zone or a weak man defense then you can get away with #2 at PG...

Against press 2 for sure. Against any other def, 1.

Depends a bit on your offense, in the fastbreak it might be a wash. In any other offense I'd take number 1, although it's worth pointing out that if it's paired with 90+ PER it might be close again. Of course, if you give dude #2 90+ perimeter I'd ideally be playing him at SG anyway. So yeah, I'd probably always take 1, but in a fastbreak system it's not so cut and dried.

#2 every time. Maybe that’s why I struggle sometimes lol

That’s how I rate them.

pass, speed, bh, ath

for every offense other than fb

Triangle and flex - 1
Motion and FB - 2

Flex and motion are close; triangle and FB are less close.

This is assuming all else is equal.

Why motion 2 Shoe, maybe I am going to learn something? I think pass is the most important stat in motion but I could be wrong.

The idea is not so much about the value of passing. All sets benefit from good passing PGs, including FB. To me, the central question in the OP is about how necessary it is for your PG to be able to score, and then and how necessary BH is to score. For me, the answer to those questions falls along the lines of my first post.

*Caveat here, I no longer play motion, as I’ve found it doesn’t fit as naturally with my preferred defensive set, a press/zone. I played motion with a press/zone for dozens of years at D1 and D2 in Allen and Naismith with my former handle, and had some success, but I felt like I was having to highly prioritize too many things, less leeway on ath and balhandling in particular.

I don’t recall if it was a dev chat, or someone I found trustworthy quoting seble (or predecessor perhaps), but at some point I read that FB defaults to motion off an offensive rebound. I inferred then that FB is more similar to motion than the other sets. This has also influenced my understanding.

90 PA PG in motion is infinitely valuable.
