IS IQ really that important? Topic

So ive been on WIS for 2 years and i feel like i have a very quality team this season but we cant seem to win. The only thing i can see that may be causing this terrible season is lack of IQ because i signed 5 new players last season.

The question i have is how do you believe IQ affects the outcome of games? I feel like i need to start recruiting my sets after the way my season has gone.

Thanks just looking for any IQ thoughts.

I look at IQ as reducing unforced errors; improving shot selection, reducing dumb turnover or fouls. It isn’t a substitute for talent, but it can make flawed players usable.

Elite players can be effective without experience over the course of a season, but they will make mistakes and have poor games sometimes. 5 first year players is a lot. If you can limit their floor time, shots, and exposure to scorers on defense, you can get by with it, but then you have to be able to really lean on those other 7.

yeah i promised 2 of those 5 new players starts. I guess that is why im struggling. This is probably a top 5 team in my career and we are 8-8. Luckily i only lose 1 sr and will have a better chance next season.

IQ can make or break you sometimes. i find this especially true for my full court press teams--i find some of those teams struggle early on but can catch fire late in the season.

I consider IQ extremely important. Not as important as Ath Spd Def, but more important than the other attributes.

People tend to overlook IQ because it doesn't have a number attached to it. I think that's a mistake.

Yeah, I'm with kc. There are pillars in this game. If you want to win, you better be able to recruit, game plan and develop talent. IQ is the part of player development that is most often underappreciated.

IQ matters a lot; And starting two FR with low IQs will be a challenge.; Keep in mind, you will PROBABLY keep them happy if you give them 80 or 85% of the starts.; Cycle one of them to a backup role in some of your games - IF you have capable guys with good IQ who can start.

The Keyword is capable of starting. I always try to cycle down to put a spark into some of my teams. I have different lines for every situation and it always works out. Keep pushing through with the same system you will succeed.

As a general rule, the difference between a c to an a is about 10 points in your cores.

Ratings increase by 10% every division and more offers and battles also increase every division. So in otherwords your division III ratings you want to keep your players for the rest of eternity.

I feel like IQ is one of the most important factors if you're wanting to win titles. As in.... deep in tournament runs, when it gets down to the E8 and beyond, and you're playing the best of the best, IQ is extremely important. You're not gonna win those games if you have low IQs, because the teams you will be playing will likely have really high IQs. I feel it helps with crunch time situations.

People say that the difference between intense recruiting battles can sometimes come down to the difference in AP because all other efforts are equal. Well I feel like in game play, that's what IQ represents. When stacked teams play against stacked teams, IQ, the intelligence in which the team manages the offense and defense, can be the deciding factor
