I know there isn't a need for a new world. However, how many of you would join just for the fun of starting at season 1?

D2 and D3 are so messed up now, I can't imagine playing anything besides D1 again.

"I know there isn't a need for a new world."

BINGO!

I would for sure join the new world and it would be so fun in the beginning, but once it calmed down, it would just be less population for every world.

You should be a politician, fluff. You got the ideology down.

Been hoping for one for a long time. Not going to happen.

Is there an emoji for banging your head against the wall??

And someone explain to me "the fun" of joining at season 1.

I think it’s got to be more attractive to new players to start at season 1, vs starting at season 125. At season 1, everyone has basically the same starting line. The race to the top programs is a fair one.

Its never "fair". The good players will always outshine the bad players. To think you have a better shot at getting to a good DI program now in a new world than our currently empty worlds is wishful thinking.

There is nothing to prevent me from getting to a Big 6 conference in the minimum amount of time in the current environment (starting from scratch) and we don't need to start another empty world to do it.

Something new (like a 3 game/day world) (shutters) would make more sense for the ultra ADD kids out there.

Yeah I agree. I suggested a 3x or 4x world for those who just like to recruit and get through seasons ASAP. Not too many people liked the idea though

Fair doesn’t mean equal. Fair means effort and skill are duly rewarded. Good players advancing faster than bad players is fair, and I don’t think anyone here disputes that.

A skilled new player would have a much better shot at reaching an A to A+ baseline school in a brand new world than they would in an existing world, where those teams are mostly long term legacy deals, and when they do open up, go to guys with much longer resumes.

I don't think the game necessarily *should* open a new world. That answer would depend on a lot of factors. But as to the question of would I sign up for it, the answer is definitely yes, if it’s a 2x. Maybe, if it’s a 1x. As I’ve said quite a few times, opening a new world is basically the only way to get a world approaching half full for anything more than a season or two, with recruiting as a resource-based commodity game. And eventually that new world would settle to roughly the level of everything else, when the top jobs are taken.

I wouldn’t have designed the game with a limitless number of coaching years. I’d have set a mandatory retire/respawn at 50-60 seasons. But that isn’t the kind of change that will go over well if instituted 100 seasons in.

Here is my issue for the respawn.

Do coaches bag their last 1-2 years of recruiting (or sign all JUCOS) if they know they are gone the following season?

Other than that, it may liven things up in the worlds.

I expect that would be the case. I’m sure the temptation is there in real life too. I’d set a hard limit at 60 with an option to retire at any time, so a coach can produce a “last hurrah” type season, if they choose. I mean, folks game their classes, and jump ship after crappy recruiting cycles now, too, so probably not too big a deal.

League ladders and race events work well in other gaming genres. Might be tricky, but probably a way to make it work here.

Random question about 'jumping ship'

I see people just hop from D2 programs one year to the next and make tourney push after tourney push. Do they get any penalty in the D1 job process for not staying at the same program? I assumed they were just championship hunting but what is the fun in that if its not your team. So then I thought they might be trying to stream line to D1. Then I thought I read somewhere that you need to stay at the same school or you get a penalty. So I'm trying to clear things up, thanks guys.
