How is that possible

Let's see the box score

I was a 50+ favorite a few seasons back and lost by 10. We shot like 30% from the field and like 7-25 from the free throw line. It happens.

I remember being a 35 point favorite and losing

Upside down night. I don’t usually pay much attention to the box score in those cases, unless there was something obvious, like you ran uptempo with 9 guys, or played -5 against a sim (which always shoots a moderate amount of 3FGA). You didn’t do either, so probably best to chalk it up to a bad simulation on the road, say FUWIS, and go about your season.

Gotta love when the opponent shoots their best FG% of the season against you.

A few seasons ago, my Oklahoma State team in Iba lost to a very bad Iowa State sim in double overtime on the road. I ended up being a 1-seed in the PI that year, so in my mind, this ridiculous loss cost me my first NT bid there. I'd win that game nine times out of ten by double digits.

Games like that used to really upset me, mostly because I felt cheated after a solid game plan. It wasn't necessarily the loss itself. Things tend to even out, in the games and in recruiting. Like Paul said, it happens.

The other team scored more points than you did.

I may have put a 10th and 11th player in, knowing I was going up against a FCP however, unless the 9 I had in there had really good stamina ratings.

happens all the time nothing new so you should probably stop posting crap like this
one of the guys who recently posted 'one of these' (after an NT game loss) ended up taking the feedback and adjusted his team the next season and won the title.

i think as long as the poster is genuinely open to feedback about their team and their coaching, these threads can be useful. if its just 'omg RNGesus strikes again', i get where you are coming from - but many of these threads have taken a productive turn from there.

I was going to criticize his absolute lack of punctuation, mostly because I'm petty enough for it, but it seems like low-hanging fruit with George. Instead, I'll just say he seems like the type of guy who has a problem for every solution.

My condolences to your real life friends, George.

i only glanced briefly before - i generally assume someone who doesn't post a link, isn't that interested in feedback! but OP, i will say two things - being 9 deep against a press is a recipe for crazy **** happening. it looks like you were unquestionable favored against that sim, but you were fairly tired, and i always figure when everyone is tired, anything can happen (not really, but it definitely takes some really, really unlikely stuff into only pretty unlikely territory).

second, if you schedule better, the impact of losing one of these won't be so brutal! the empty conference is rough, and that isn't totally on you, but you have to offset that with a mostly human non-conference at least. and i would try to get in a fuller conference. outside of how much more valuable each season of experience is, i find that in this game, when you basically have to win to break even, and losing is devastating, it just sets you up for bad experiences. kind of why i don't like high d1 recruiting in 3.0. but anyway, if you had a tougher schedule with a fairly wide range of acceptable outcomes, and some awesome ones, i think it would be a more pleasant experience that minimally makes your 1% dice roll games WAY more tolerable.

edit: i meant to say, if you actually want any feedback on stuff you could have maybe done differently, let me know, i'll take a look and shoot you a sitemail. i don't know if it would relate to why you lost this game, but generally any team improvement type stuff would reduce the odds of these kinds of things? not related to the listed line, that is pure garbage, but you know, less likely to lose to bad sims.
