Occasionally people find a diamond in the rough when scouting D2 from D3 and D2. You may find one every three or four seasons, but it’s definitely not a yearly thing.

What are some of the better ones you recall landing?

Um.... I recruited a DII juco to DI who ended up being the best player on a 3 seed IN DIVISION ONE scoring 18 ppg consecutive years en route to a Conference Player of the Year award.

There are definitely D2 players who can help D2 and D3 teams win championships, every year. Whether you find them, or are able to successfully recruit them is a separate issue, but they always exist.

Hajj Abdulaziz was excellent, but probably not in the top 5 from what I’ve recruited.

Ismael Hudkins could have been all conference in most D1 conferences as a junior and senior.

Guadalupe Gonzalez, Dewei Huang, Antonio Salinas, and Dima Blachowski were all available to me at D3, but would have made excellent D2 players, too.

ETA - his role diminished as Kansas went from the cellar the year he was recruited to a Final Four caliber team, but Jesse Campbell was a D2 pool player, and he helped the Jayhawks win some games in some lean years.

Loving that he didn’t even get the chance to max either. Those Juco’s can be monsters sometimes.

As with shoe, I completely disagree with the basic premise that "you may find one every three or four seasons." Virtually my entire team at this point consists of D2 recruits.

As with shoe, I completely disagree with the basic premise that "you may find one every three or four seasons." Virtually my entire team at this point consists of D2 recruits.

I only pull division II recruits and most of the time most of the time in division III your taking on massive rec center builds.
