Here's the situation:


Two teams are battling for a recruit.
You are reasonable sure that you can get yourself to High or Very High.
You are not certain that you can knock them down below high.

What are the conditions that you are willing to be the third guy on a recruit?

Being the third guy in ain't so bad. But I'd wrap it up just to be on the safe side.

Is it at a college party or a brothel? And would I at least get to see a picture of her first? And I better be damn sure I can get myself to High before i even consider!

I'd say 1) you have to be ok with losing out entirely 2) it better be a player that's worth the risk. 3) if I had a late signing backup ready, and this players preference was Early or EoP1

When being the 3rd guy in, you certainly don’t want to be the 1st guy out.

You're allowed to imagine being inside a woman.

If you're the 3rd guy in, you gotta aim for the Center, and then just Power Forward. But being 3rd, Small Ball won't have much of an impact. So make sure the 2 bigs aren't the first ones in on the play. You'll be embarrassed very quickly. When Small Ball gets exposed late in the game, it can be bad for everyone involved

I mean, at our ages, if you're only the third guy in, count your blessings and consider yourself lucky.

Hard to say where you’ll end up until you jump. Especially for late recruits, a lot of those battles sit idle, there’s no way to know if others have invested anything or not, without jumping in. Doesn’t cost a whole lot to test the water. If I’m reasonably sure I can get into range, I’m not worried about who else is there, or how many. If it’s someone worth expending resources to take a shot, I’ll take the shot.
