If that doesn't meet the exact parameters you're looking for I'm guessing gil would have the data specific to Jan vs now.

Has there ever been serious talk of consolidating worlds? I can see how it would be a nightmare, but could be kinda neat to have a fewer number of worlds that are just more densely-populated.

I don't know about serious but that's been discussed many times on the forums.

In my opinion, it's a terrible, terrible idea and I struggle to really see the benefit and how they outweigh the negatives. Just the fact alone that you would have people who would lose teams they've built up and actually care about is a killer issue for me. There are so few people left playing, do we really want to **** them off more and give them incentive to leave?

Honestly an expansion of opening a new world would be much preferred. So many existing players would pick up another team in a brand new world, it's such a great opportunity to shoot for that dream job of theirs that never opens up but also to just start fresh on a level playing field with every other coach. Sounds fun.

In reality, the best thing they could do for HD is to restructure the cost. Makes very little sense to expect new players to pay $10 a season on a team that is terrible while vets pay $0 and are dominating.

I wish I could give this whole thing more than a +1.

I have played 178 seasons of HD and have paid for 5 of them. Meanwhile we expect new people to plunk down the cost of 5 seasons just to get to the point where they have a team full of their own recruited players. Does that make any sense at all?

i agree, the reward points were a good idea when you thought about worlds of 200 people. now its like, just way too easy to play for free. its also the hardcore crazy folks who have played frantically enough to be up there in final fours regularly and winning titles, who are usually more willing to pay. so the whole thing is a little backwards.

that said, there was a time when d2/d3 were viewed under this lens and reward points were scaled back dramatically, to the point where once you made like 10 NTs, or something (i totally forget the mechanism but whatever it was, it happened to me really freaking fast), you weren't even getting enough points to cover a season, for winning a NC. i was a fairly new coach at my first d2 school ever and by the time i was good enough in d2 to start cranking out NCs regularly, i got like 1500 points a piece of something. it was a tiered system so you got less over time, but it hit hard & fast.

anyway, the d2/d3 population got decimated without d1 bouncing much and WIS reversed course. cautionary history lesson, i suppose.

They just need to get rid of 1 game a day worlds in my opinion.

I think getting rid of 1 day worlds is a big mistake we have merged but that's not the problem I think 1 day worlds make you think your doing the right decision look at the team I got in Div III I am going up against a running mate for the first time that its really good.

A new world would be an interesting idea.... using the up to date conference alignments. It's silly how it's set up now in terms the teams in D1 not being in the right conferences. Or they could experiment with worlds that are just D1 or D1+D2 and eliminate D3....

I think we need more worlds where the new people can play and win. People like I and Mfn would destroy people when we get a chance with a good team. That's at least the Obstacle right now.

I would be to an up to date alignment, tweeking it to fill 12 teams conf.

And to change recruiting so it’s a one session thing. Maybe cap D3.

It would also be fun to get conf achievements back.

We can have separate empty worlds more of a price tag for that. I have heard there trying to advance into a NBA pro game on here so I have no idea why we can't do that but I advise to not be against the masses rather than try to find a solution to the harassment.

I think it could be done successfully but requires an overhaul in cost structure. Here is what I thought would work.

Probably requires some tweaking but something like this would be an improvement IMO.
