Protesters in San Fran have toppled a statue of the man who defeated the Confederacy. Idiots. This year is hot garbage

He was a pretty bad president...

A thoroughly decent man, at least according to a biography of his I read last year. A lot of the corruption during his presidency wasn't his fault or was overstated (per this bio)

Read some more history on the subject. One biased bio doesn't cut it.

U.S. Grant was one of the most flatly incompetent Presidents we've had.
We've had several!

The latest guy is making them all pale by comparison.
I have no idea IF he was a decent man, or not.
As his own brother was a horridly corrupt and indecent man, it would seem folly to expect his brother to be a Saint.

Regardless, he was the general that DEFEATED the confederacy. A statue of George Washington was toppled two days ago. It's in bad faith when the far left argues they only want to remove Confederate statues/remembrances.

OK... I mean, I guess you can blame the entire left for some protesters removing statues? And I'm sure you will find a way to blame Joe Biden for this too.

I don't care, personally.

I'm distantly related to U.S. Grant!

Dems/Libs keep blaming incidents like this on "fringe groups" or "extremists", and say it doesn't represent what the Party stands for. How many "fringe" or "extreme" instances does it take for those looking at it from the outside to say "That DOES represent the Party."?
6/20/2020 11:52 AM
in your case, probably just one.

How many PROVEN LIES does the con have to spew before you admit he’s full of ****? How many people have to get sick and how many have to DIE before you acknowledge that we moved FAR TOO FAST to “reopen the economy?” How do you keep coming here saying some ignorant ****, getting yourself stomped by several people and STILL come back with more drivel such as this?

I'm legitimately curious. 60 million democrats. How many?

Grant freed the only slave he owned almost immediately after he inherited him from his father in law. Not to mention he ****** up the Klan as much as possible, and that whole "beating the confederacy" thing.

Not a fan of his presidency but not sure his monuments deserve to be taken down.

Well, if Biden and Pelosi start endorsing that kind of behavior, then I think you could say it represents the party.

Until the actual party leadership gets on board, I don't think there's a number. Until the elected officials endorse this kind of thing, it's not like you can make the argument that a vote for Biden is a vote for looting. Biden is a law and order guy. His record is very clear on this.

Are you seriously defending a man who fought in the Mexican-American war? GTFO. Every single statue of his in the US should be destroyed.
