2020/2021 Tournament: Rnd 3 - Lg 6 A.L. - DONE! Topic

For Round Three, there will be Eight Leagues of 24 teams each. Each division will comprise five choices of specific years where you will use the three teams listed to build your roster. The three teams listed for each season were the top teams (in Wins) for that season/league. Each league is divided into N.L. and A.L. In order to have 120 choices for each league (A.L. and N.L.), I had to use the years of 1899 and 1900. 1900 is under the N.L. and 1899 is under the A.L.

In the following cases where there are four choices listed, it indicates that the third and fourth place teams had the same amount of Wins that season. In this case, you get to pick which one of those two you want to combine with the first two teams listed. The seasons I’m referring to are:

National League: 1922, 1953, 1974, 1976, 2010 and 2012

American League: 1977, 2004, 2007 and 2012

For the 2005 American League, three teams tied for second in the number of Wins they had. In that case, you take the Chicago White Sox and then two of the remaining three teams listed.

The person with the first pick in each league will choose which league/division/season he wants to use. The draft will go on until all 12 spots are filled. When filling out your roster, you must use the three teams listed to fill out all spots. For this round, we’re not doing any Free Agents from other teams. Also, you don’t need to have a certain number of players from each of the three franchises. Just create the best roster you can.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

NO CAP – Build the best roster you can from your season/franchises.

You may use either partial or full season stats of any player who had a split season - as long as the stats indicate it was for your franchise.

Just spoke to PedroCerrano, he is away this weekend at a cabin in the California Mountains without internet access. He doesn’t have his computer with him. Unfortunately, the drafts kicked off this weekend and he will not be able to make picks until Monday the 17th at the earliest. He asked me to notify his leagues so that people do not keep checking.

This draft will be delayed until Monday.

I really wanted to take 1982 and that great offense.

On a related note, '82 Pete Vuckovich has to be the worst pitcher ever to win the Cy Young award. His 1.50 whip is easily the worst of all Cy Young winners. Next worst is 1980 Steve Stone (1.30). His K to BB ratio was 1.03. Next worse is '58 Bob Turley (1.31). His OAV was .275. Next worse was '93 Jack McDwoell (.266). By most measures, he was the 4th or 5th best SP on his own team.

It wouldn't surprise me, if toyboys leaves the 1982 A.L. Cy Young award winner off the roster.
