So I began my morning by doing something all3 never does: reading a book. This particular book is about the French Revolution. I was reading about how elections to the third assembly worked in 1792. Evidently voting was done by voice , in a public manner. The upshot of this is that conservatives, who opposed the revolution (and equality!), were afraid to vote, afraid to be seen as enemies of the revolution. According to this author, out of 7 million qualified to vote 6.3 million refused to. No conservative voices had the courage to speak up, what a beautiful thing!
Any case, this got me thinking about our upcoming election. Trump supporters should be made public (obviously I am not a Trump supporter). If you voted for Trump in 2016 we should know about it. The public pressure to make people vote responsibly and progressively might be the last chance to save this country. If you voted for Trump, you should have to proclaim it loud and proud. The shame will stop anyone like him getting elected ever again.
Am I saying cancel culture should extend to voters? Yes, I am.
