All my friends on the left are addicted to social media and have the same opinion on 99% of political topics.

All my friends on the right read many of the most renowned and critically well-regarded books of history, philosophy, and economics and have differing opinions on many diverse topics.

Just an an anecdotal example, but one I think may be generally representative too (disregarding the dumb redneck element).

There are more intellectuals on the left...but those on the right think deeper, less dogmatically, and more originally.

I should revise my question. Deep-thinking modern-day Trump supporters on the right. Most of these people are libertarians, not really conservatives in the traditional sense.

Milton Friedman - died 2006
Charles Krauthammer - died 2018 (and was anti-Trump)
Flemming Rose - not American
Bill Buckley - died 2008
Barry Goldwater - died 1998
Henry Kissinger - From what I understand, Trump-critical?
Ed Crane - Libertarian, so anti-Trump, presumably
Edward Prescott - I can't find much on him, but he said that Obama's economy was good.
Douglass C. North - Died 2015

I respect many principled libertarians. We can have reasonable conversations about the issues, and agree on some things. However, these people don't tend to be gung ho Trump supporters, and for good reason.

Here's another question; what are the new ideas coming out of the *conservative* right? Not libertarian right, but conservative right? If I'm voting for Trump, what *new* policies am I going to get? What is the vision for the future?

If what you are looking for primarily are new policies, you clearly misunderstand the core ideas of conservatism.
