When you "rest" an injured player when they get to 60 health, do they still accumulate team practice minutes/learning IQ?
If not, is there a reason that you wouldn't just put them at mop up and not on the depth chart?

How much loss of individual ratings should I expect if I rest them like this for 8 games?

I know injuries are very rare. But no one has insight on this?

No idea .. BUT, I do have an injured player right now. he is currently OUT and I can't select anything.

I think he does practice if in rest, just does not play. But personally, I just take him off the depth Chart all together and put him back when he heals. Then he will not play and he will practice.

If I recall, players do not improve attributes/IQ when they *can’t* play/practice due to injury. Just leaving them off the depth chart doesn’t mean they’re not practicing, so a player at >60% health who is not on the depth chart, whether resting, mop-up, or simply off, can still practice and improve; but not as much as if he was getting PT. And his WE will drop at some point, without PT.

Thanks shoe. I was trying to figure out if there was a difference in improvement between "rest" and leaving off the depth chart. So thanks.

So is the only advantage to setting to rest over leaving off of the depth chart at mop up that there is not even the .001% chance that the player would get put into the game with several foul outs? Or is there something about qualifying for the medical redshirt by setting to rest? If not, I see no reason to set to rest.

You can't set players to rest if they're not injured

Yes, that's not what we are talking about though.

I don’t really know what the function of mop-up is in the fatigue drop down. If using minutes, it makes more sense, but on the fatigue side, all the other options (besides rest) indicate when the player is pulled, not when he’s used. As far as I’ve ever been able to tell, if a player is off the depth chart, he does not play in games. It doesn’t matter where his fatigue setting (or minutes setting) is fixed.

You may be right, maybe the difference is that with rest, an injured player remains where they are on the depth chart, but doesn’t play, whereas with mop-up, they may come in, but only under certain conditions. I certainly don’t use it, maybe others know more about it.

mop up is essentially useless; i think you've captured it there shoe. if you want a guy to play a couple minutes sometimes as opposed to 0, that's your ticket i guess, maybe if you have like, a junior complaining who you are playing sometimes and benching other times, or something weird like that, there's some edge case where mopup makes sense? typically if i was going for that sort of thing, i'd just have a low depth chart guy with those 2 team plan settings checked (play the bench warmers if winning/losing by a lot end of game).

my guess is its merely an attempt to emulate reality, and as there is no... morale boost? from putting in your victory cigar so the crowd can yell SHOOT THE 3 every time he touches the ball, there's just not much use for mop up here in the HD world. maybe if some HD coaches are into roleplay?

Well that's what OP looked like to me. If you're putting "rest" in quotations, I assumed you meant the actual setting. Since that IS a setting option.

I can't be the only one that read it that way. Oh well, all clear now

Oh yes, that's what we were talking about, but we were also talking about injured players. That's what I was getting at. No worries.

Yea I got ya now. And I understand what you were asking, and don't have any helpful input on that. I'll go back to sleep now

I've always left my walkons off the depth chart and set them to mop-up...they've never played even one minute. Idk if that's a function of being off the chart or mop-up though lol.
