I've had 19, 18, 7, 16, 23 and now 19. I do dream of a top 3 spot, but I know when the early 3rd round rolls up I'll be glad I have 3 picks in the top 55

First round of the Savage draft....

Possibly willing to trade Dwight Howard and the fifth slot.

Well after a couple mediocre Savage finishes I lucked into #1. If I can't manage a good finish with Lebron I'll just have to accept I'm not very good at this format.

BTW (first world problem alert) it's not that easy figuring out which 5 Lebron seasons to use. I'm pretty much locking in 12-13, 13-14, and 17-18 (even with "only" 70 D). After that, there are 5-6 other seasons I can make a reasonable case for. If I had to pick right this second it would probably be 09-10 and 08-09, in that order, but it may depend on how the rest of the draft goes.

Kenny Mayne: Right, right. So I have to ask you some real fake sports questions because the people at home care about fake sports almost as much as real sports. People have called you an idiot, immune to logic and reason, contrarian. What do you think about that?

bds9992: Ah, heck, Kenny, I’m just trying to win. Always been trying to find those high upside guys who elevate our floor and our ceiling at the best inflection points in each draft. Sure, I’ve had more swings than hits but who hasn’t? At the end of the day, if you’re not adapting, you’re failing. The same stuff that worked in 2008 doesn’t work now. You can’t roll out those lineups in 2021. Once upon a time we didn’t even have 15-16 Warriors SF, and at the time some people thought he was going to be a first round pick. Conventional wisdom always changes, and I’ll still be here trying to find that competitive edge. You have to be better than the best to beat the best.

I have no doubt some folks are scoffing at my return, and to that I say - ah, hell, it’s just a website. a) Get over yourselves and b) there’s no reason to think the scholars and geniuses are who they say they are. Right, I forgot, you’re supposed to believe everything and everyone on the Internet without a molecule of salt, you can definitely gauge intent through text and Santa Claus has a side gig as an Elvis impersonator. Again, both teams played hard.

bds: Would you have it any other way?
