There will be forty-two choices available to the 24 owners in this league. Twenty-One choices per league (N.L. / A.L.) and seven choices in each division. Every team in every division should be quite good.

Each of the choices listed below have five seasons in them. Starting with the year 1900, they're broken down into twenty-year increments. For example, one possible team will include players from 1901, 1921, 1941, 1961 and 1981.

The draft can begin!

I'm almost done with my research but will be gone most of the day. I'll get us started later tonight (west coast time). The last round of a juice tournament - always a great time. Wonder who Vegas gives the best odds to - schwarze or the field.

Nah. I got a bunch of low picks. Made a tactical error last draft by focusing on number of teams advancing instead of trying to get high draft picks. Didn't realize there wouldn't be any compensation for lower draft picks this round.

NL Central: 1908-1928-1948-1968-1988. Yikes 2 out of the first 3 picks are in the NL Central. This will be either a brilliant choice or a bust. My track record on brilliance is not very good.

Not a shock on the first 3 picks. They were all on my short list. When everybody goes pitching, let's do the opposite.

As usual I agonized over this and could easily spend another couple hours convincing myself of a different choice. Joining all of you in the NL seemed like a fool's errand, so I tried to find the team I thought had the best division advantage on the AL side. I'm not sure I found it, but I love this rotation and hope they can hit enough to keep pace.

I am required to have at least one team per division, so if 3 teams are taken in a division and I don't have one yet, then no more teams can be taken from that division (according to juice)

I think there are better combinations out there but I'm drawn to the fact no one has entered the AL Central yet. With just one team in this round the strategy is to win a division and then roll the dice on the playoff crapshoot.
So looking there I'm torn between two choices - after much deliberation I'll go with 1928-48-68-88-08

I was thinking was same thing as ronthegenius, and there were two teams I liked in the AL Central. Ron just took one of them so...
