Is HD Dead and just a Zombie now? Topic

Any word on future updates to HD by WIS? Or are we just left to play out this zombie that is ruled by randomness and luck?

I don't know if its dead, but my interest in it pretty much is.

HD should set up early season charity tourneys. I used to create them in Crum and Phelan.
.
I had 4 team mini tourneys set in gameslots 3 4 and 5. And each team would face each other once.
.
First i started with the Maui Classic, Great Alaska Shootout, Battle 4 Atlantis, and couple of others.
.
Later i chose actual charities to name the tourneys-- St Jude Tourney... Wounded Warrior Classic... Guide Dog Tourney... American Red Cross Invitational...
.
I asked each member to throw a few bucks at whichever charity tourney they played in. i would let the owners pick their tourney.
.

where have you been for the past 10 years. the games been dead since before i got here with one major **** up by the last developer who no longer works here.

Yeah I used to manage 4 teams and now I'm probably cutting it down to 1. This is clearly a buyout to maximize profits with as little as costs necessary. WIS developers are going to work on the other apps first.. Unfortunately our game is dying, and only the community is keeping it alive.

Still enjoy the game as is.

No plans to cut teams.

Cheers.

This is a tired old narrative, and a bad one. Seble was a symptom, not the problem. The problem is that the game was designed - designed to be pitched anyway - *originally* to be a data mining tool for other sports-adjacanet operations; it's not really a college basketball simulation, it's a resource distribution model. The code is so old, the excuse goes, no one knows how to fix it without breaking it. And they won't just, you know, build a new game - even though that's the kind of scope the HD 3.0 rollout *shoud* have been - because that's too much money and risk.

It's not any one developer, it's the operation. No one who has operated this game since I've been here has been committed to running a web based game site. It's just a passive income source for somebody, with a little bit of overhead, which they are clearly trying to manage tightly.

i think you guys are both right in a way. game is pretty clearly dead in the way 0nly says, nobody should really expect much change on the horizon except for a slow drip of declining populations. populations are decently stable when the game admins leave things alone really. but i do think its also true that seble is a symptom more than the root problem itself. seble's 3.0 did crush population but seble's work was the only real attempt to do things. it just so happens that a lot of those things didn't go so well. he did do some good work though.

definitely a mixed bag, but i think he was pretty much set up for failure, there's basically no support infrastructure. seble never was much of an HD coach, its hard for one guy with a limited understanding of a game to handle the design, development, testing, and maintenance of a game. the owners never wanted to put in the money to have an actual team. even if seble really 'got' HD, it woulda been tough for him to do it all himself. i do think it would have went better though... but still, whatever seble's failings, they definitely weren't all on him. a bunch of solid coaches thought his ideas were good, too, its not like he was really doing stuff in the face of universal opposition from high end coaches, as 0nly suggests.

you've been saying the same thing for 8 years. stfu with your dumbass words like "resource distribution model" you use to try to seem smart. the game is still lower populated and less active socially than it was.

theres less people playing STILL. the game was stale and was made worse against the advice of every GOOD coach and still hasnt recovered from the abomination of the update that made the game worse for new and exisiting players evidenced by the population numbers, whatever fancy words you try to use to sugar coat it don't hold up against facts.

they can't fix simple things in the meantime either, that have been asked for years. its amazing people are coming to the forums asking if the game is dead or not when its been like that forever lmao.
lol. *I've* been saying the same thing for 8 years.

OK Ian.
