ah i see. well that looks a little more promising.

Promising, but I'm not optimistic. I sent in a ticket demanding a refund for future seasons purchased as what they sold me is not what they are now giving me.

For some reason I took the time to read through this whole thread and the last 10-12 pages of World Chat in Cooperstown. Anyway, I think private worlds should be able to control who is in the league each season, but not necessarily in-season, as if the person is acting and playing and they paid they shouldn't be kicked out.

MikeT - In the Cooperstown world, is there any reason to be trying to throw the guy out other than two bad seasons record-wise? The team kinda sucked before he took over and it doesn't seems like much has changed. I didn't see anything in the world chat about him purposely trading to build up other teams or something. Maybe something happened weeks ago, but it seems like the league and commish is on a bit of a power trip to try to get him kicked out (again, if it's just for having a bad record).

i'll let mike respond to his part, but as far as the bolded part goes, 2 people were allowed to finish the season and told they were not invited back for next season. it wasn't an in-season thing. we rolled and are waiting for smoel to remove his team, like the other person did.

I've detailed it in the Cooperstown thread. It's the bad record and the "What am I supposed to do now?" attitude. That's not good enough in Cooperstown. You are expected to compete and he built a team that would lose. He's got a great track record so I know he knows how to win. He was either in over his head or soft tanking. Not good enough.

24 owners have removed their teams since WifS laid out their guidelines which allows him to stay. One can assume that they agree with "not good enough for our world."

most of us joined/stayed in this league because it was one of the most competitive leagues going. and because we knew mike would run a tight ship to keep it that way. we'd like it to stay that way.

Our good friends in the "we're above the forum riff-raff" Gleeman World don't think this is an issue:

coolio4433Twindyans4/9/2010 9:45 AMThe fair play guidelines are worthless, but this issue has been blown out of proportion by the drama queens on the forums.

i know this is obviously the hot topic item right now...but has anyone actually let admin know how we feel...have they read these forum posts...do they ever...i am sending a ticket to let them know how i feel...i think we all should send a ticket to voice our displeasure...or else our complaints are falling on deaf ears...

I sent a ticket this morning urging them to reconsider their position, but going on five hours later it's showing they haven't even received it yet.

May take a while, travis. They're going to have a lot of tickets to go through.

I love the idea of having unique entrance rules for private worlds. And I think that there needs to be an ability to remove owners that are clearly seriously breaking these rules mid-season. But for it to work there has to be a majority of owners agreeing to kick out the offending owner, say 20 owners saying boot 'em. A seriously tanking owner can damage a franchise for many seasons to come, so why allow said owner to destroy it even more simply because WifS doesnt like kicking owners out of their franchises even if they obviously deserve to be booted?

The commissioner asked smoelheim not to come back, he ignored the request, Admin allowed him to remain and everyone but the commissioner it seems has already dropped out or plans to do so
it seems as if admin will let everyone leave and wait for 30 owners to sign up...very sad for a great league with owners losing teams they invested years in...what the hell is going on...
