precisely

Regardless, the foul situation is still pretty mucked up in the new engine

So Seble, if Man, the different zones and stuff are base defenses, and you say you could add the press to it, what would that mean?

Would you be half court trapping? Or pressing full court, or could it be either? Is the halfcourt trap a base defense?

I don't think the Half Court trap is a base defense in my expierence. We usually ran it out of a 2-3 zone, or a 3-2 zone. But I have seen teams run it out of m2m before.

But I think that the Base defense's should only be M2M, 2-3 Zone, or 3-2 Zone, with the option of putting in the press, or trap as add-ons to the defense.

Because you can pretty much have any type of press, or traps out of those 3 base defenes.

Yeah that makes sense to me, you could have a halfcourt trap/man, a fullcourt press/man (man to man, entire length of the floor), a fullcourt trap/man, there are lots of possibilities.

Exactly, and I even ran a 1-3-1 full court trap, as well as a 1-3-1 half court trap, and a 1-3-1 typical zone.

There is definately alot of possibilities if those 3 base defenses were used.

Ideally I think any half-court defense (including a trapping D) would be one of the base sets you could run. Then no matter what base set you run, you could specify whether you want to pressure full court as well.

Yea but to my knowledge there is really no half court base D (I could be wrong). The m2m, 2-3 zone, and 3-2 zones are base defenses, where you run variations of the traps, and presses off of those 3.

There could be other base defenses, or variations off of those 3 that I am not aware of, but you can basically run anything out of m2m, 2-3 zone, or 3-2 zone, would I be correct there?
