Maybe you are not overstating it.

One thing I know for sure. If you are not having fun, then I don't recommend you play this game. It is a game and it should be fun. If it is not, you should find something that is fun for you to do with your time and money.

This coming from a guy with ONE DIII team. You haven't even spent enough money for us to value your opinion on this matter.

Really .... REALLY?

Well, maybe I have more than one ID?

Maybe I have played more than one WIS game?

Or maybe I can say whatever I want because you are not the boss of me.

After some discussion here and some work to recover the results of the original games, I've come up with the following structure for credit compensation for those negatively affected by the replay of games.

$5 credit for teams that lost in the Sweet 16 in the replay and lost in the Elite 8 in the original run
$17.95 ($5 + free season) for teams that lost in the Elite 8 in the replay and lost in the Final 4 in the original run
$22.95 ($10 + free season) for teams that lost in the Sweet 16 in the replay and lost in the Final 4 in the original run

So essentially, credits were given to make up the difference lost from original to replay and in addition a free season credit has been added for teams that were still alive in the original run.

I know this doesn't erase the frustration for those who lost in the replay, but at least it makes up for the loss in credits. This was clearly a no-win situation, but I felt (and still do) that the integrity of the game would have been compromised more by not replaying the games. I know some of you feel differently, but to me those original games weren't valid. Maybe the ratings changes didn't affect the outcome of every game, but the point is that it didn't affect all teams equally, so the changes were relevant to the outcomes.

Hopefully nothing like this happens again, but if it does I'll certainly take more time before deciding on a solution. I'm still surprised by the strong reaction. I expected those who won in the original run to be upset, but I also expected most people to understand that those games weren't valid and that a replay was the fairest solution. The impression I have now is that most of you guys feel it's better to keep the original results (even if invalid) over replaying the games. I don't agree with that, but I understand the problems with a replay.

So I apologize again about all of this and I hope we can move past it and enjoy the game.

I was not involved in this situation as my team was already out. But, how can coaches be that upset? There was something that caused the program to not work correctly. Its as if those games were never played. I think WIS did a perfectly fine job of handling this. Just my opinion.

given the things that have been broken in the game over the years, we would still be on one world in about year 10 - if they went back and replayed everything when they discovered something was wrong

there is no possible way things were so bad that games needed to be replayed

none

All this has taught seble is

- if something goes wrong just fix it
- if someone notices just say it was a display error and in no way effected anything (which i seem to remember happening alot under the tarek run HD)

you guys are punishing seble for being honest and doing the right thing here.

There is a difference between something you "think" is broken and something happening with the program, in my opinion.

That is your opinion ... it is not everyone's.

Tanner, im not "punishing" seble for anything, I am just tired of the mistakes. If I remember correctly you yourself said last seasons NT in D1 was strictly a product of another mistake.

Thanks jthieme1, that is very kind of you considering your situation. I was looking forward to a rematch with your Columbus St. squad in the Elite 8 and would of tried to keep my settings the same out of fairness. I believe you had a good gameplan for our matchup and would of liked to see how things panned out but it was not to be. Even though the circumstances in which I have reached the National Title game are a bit sullied, I am excited about the opportunity. Good luck to you montanabase3 if you are keeping up on this thread.

So I guess this was your verdict and you have ignored ledfoots suggestion?

Didn't affect my team as I lost in the first round, but I say kudos to Seble for "manning up". Compared to the previous "regime", actually getting an apology and an admission that things didn't work right are light years ahead of where we were with TK.

Again Seble, thanks for actually telling us the truth, your response has gone a long way towards earning my respect, for what it's worth.

I'm with orrdc on this one - you compensated the teams somewhat by giving them credits, but you haven't addressed the conference recruiting money and prestige issues at all.

I'm shocked that every few pages seble comes on here and "fixes" things, but he only addresses one issue partly each time.

This is really ugly....
