I was willing to take my lumps in the draft to make sure I had lots of quality innings and a strong 3-4-5 in my lineup for the next two years while I built up around them.

Ford, Plank and Fidrych will shoulder the pitching load and Lloyd Waner, Pujols, Teddy Ballgame and Will Clark will keep the offense afloat.
