3-round "franchise" draft - Draft Thread Topic

Wow, I can't believe my luck in getting Brooklyn Feds with the last pick of the thrid round.  I looked at every team left at that point, and virtually all of them were worthless and wouldn't contribute anything other than a bench player.  But the Feds give me Benny Kauff (.342, .446, .509, A+ range) as a starter in the OF (replacing George Gore).  I also get Steve Evans (.348, .416, .556) to play DH (platooning with Jimmy Ryan .332, .377, .515).  Steve Witzerall (.438 ob, A/B defense) gives me much needed ABs at 3B.  Plus, I get to add two really good relievers, Cy Falkenberg (52 ips, 0.90 whip) and Hooks Wiltse (64 ip, 0.94 whip).

Also, by dropping Gore, I get to add 336 IPs of 1.05 whip (Jocko Flynn) as a spot starter and long reliever.

I don't think I'll finish last anymore.

They were my second pick Schwarze. I took Buffalo because of Russ Ford's awesome season to be a spot starter long A type pitcher

Damn, that's a good offense.
5/12/2011 5:22 PM
Sorry to be such a numbskull after playing nearly 500 WIS seasons, but how do you get those stats displayed in your draft center?
5/12/2011 6:20 PM
I don't know about schwarze, but I didn't get them to show up in the draft center.  I just built an Excel table by cutting and pasting from multiple search results.
5/12/2011 6:37 PM

That's exactly what I did too.

They give me a decent catcher(Rariden), some good SP and Seaton's excellent '15 season. Not much else to get from them though...I wanted the Bisons, but they come up different in the WIS database than they are listed in baseballreference.com.
