I have done an exhaustive overview of the teams and I think vilefileman has the best combination of drafted players.

I tried to be aggressive early on so that I didn't see a guy I really wanted slip through. I adjusted my strategy later in the draft and went after guys I thought were 2-3 rounds out, and still got blocked a few times. For the most part, even when I had a guy blocked, the other player(s) I was considering still went that round, so I wouldn't have had them anyway. I don't think there are any picks I'm really kicking myself over.

Good to see the Bipster finally off the board...actually pretty stunned he lasted.

I'm not sure which draft pick I will most regret. After the season is over will be a different story.

Not sure I needed Joe Torre in Rnd. 7. Not sure I needed Jack Chesbro in Rnd 3. etc.

It will be fascinating to review the winning team's drafts once this is done.

Not sure who would be up for it, but it would be cool to repeat this with the same 24 owners after this season is done, to see how differently the draft turns out.

The last round I said what the h*ll and flipped a coin between Aaron Judge and Roger Maris - luckily(???) we both got our man.


My *what was I thinking moment* came with Pete Rose in round 4.

No Stargell or Clemente. As a Pirate fan I almost took each late in the draft and may regret not having Captain Willie's power.

Bobby Shantz
Ryan Cook
Ron Reed
Jim Handiboe

That would actually be kinda fun. The low rent silent auction.

Through the fix 6 rounds, I kept trying to figure out when I should take a SS. The two guys I was eyeing were George Davis and Bill Dahlen. I finally got cold feet and took Davis with Request 7.1 over Paul Waner. Waner went on Request 7.2. Dahlen went 4 rounds later.

Also, I kind of wasted a pick by taking both pinch-hitting & defensive-specialists OF's Jeremy Reed and Dave Philley. My outfield defense was good enough. That roster spot cost me the chance to take a defensive SS.

I could have also passed on Ray Grimes, but Grimes will start at 1B over Goldschmidt in ballparks that suppress HRs.

Overall, I'm ok with my team. Maybe I took Lofton and Raines too early in an unlimited cap league, but McGee had just gotten picked, so I doubt those guys would've lasted much longer.
