I agree with #1 with the added words that you still have to let them make their own mistakes.

You can help with advice, but doing it for them in my opinion is not part of learning. I have seen many rookies come on and the first day ask for advice in world chat, then you have other rookies who either ignore advice, or they make comments like it's my money I will do what I want. I have seen a rookie get burned in a trade and when it was vetoed he was upset that people would veto his trade because he was not colluding. Then I have seen other rookies get multiple trades of theirs vetoed and they have positive things to say.  A good future owner will learn from his mistakes and be better because of it.

You can learn without getting bent in trade.   Once an owner learns that the 38 control, 52/54 split, 51/58/41 P1-P3 pitcher isn't good despite his 78 overall because the 35/92 DUR/STM says he is, he won't trade that masher of a 71 catcher to get him.   You can absolutely learn this without making the deal.   It seems to me the worst thing to do is offer him this deal.   You could help him or you could ignore him.   You have stated, time and time again, that you will offer that deal and it's his bad for accepting and the world's fault for not vetoing. 

Therein lies the problem.

FWIW, I don't really look at HBD as a battlefield.   It's a game we pay to play.   While I can be quite the dick in chat/forums, I still respect the fact that people pay their money and spend their time to play.   I'm guessing there are a lot better ways to spend their time/money but they choose HBD.  It just seems, IMO, that taking advantage of a situation due to inexperience/lack of knowledge is wrong.   You can say game/real life over and over again(and you have) but you're playing a game in your real life using your real money and spending your real time.

I don't care if you believe it or not. If I am playing a game in real life I have no problem ripping them off within the game.. I am actually bigger than most people, I don't really have a fear of getting my *** kicked, plus *** kicking generally went out with High School.

Just catching up after a fairly busy day and evening.  This was my favorite plague post today.

I am not saying no one scares me. If Randy Couture was in front of me and he wanted to kick my *** I am sure I would be worried. But this is not High School anymore and those things don't happen, and because of my size your average person usually does not try and intimidate me. I am not trying to say I am some bad *** stud.

Random aside- I'm not really a fighter, but when I drink I sometimes feel like talking crap to people who mildly annoy me.  Naturally, I'm risking getting punched in the face, so I do a quick appraisal as to whether it's a worthwhile risk, and it has nothing to do with the other guy's size.  It's purely based on whether they have a look in their eyes like they are willing to kill me if I say another word.  I don't care if a guy is 6'5 and 240 pounds of pure muscle, if he looks like a big teddy bear I'll run my mouth and my face will almost certainly remain intact.

On the flipside, I have a friend who's a black guy, average size.  He's always saying that when he gets in a fight, he's not afraid to die and that's what gives him the edge over bigger people.  I have noticed that even drunk people refrain from messing with him under any circumstances.

There's the old stereotype that whitey's afraid of getting their *** beat by black guys, but then I realized it doesn't really support my point so I didn't go into it.

That and I'm posturing for future immunity from the race card.  "HA! I can't be racist, I have a black friend, I even posted about it earlier suckaaaaa."  Smart, right?
