So, the Fausto DeRojas Experiment but 6 seasons behind. For your next trick, you should discover penicillin.

Here's the deal. If you have a monster like Vargas or DeRojas, you can afford to do this. They are immediately effective. The problem with this is if you get N00bs doing this **** with DRAFTED players who only have 60 (projected 80) Durability guys who go to the Majors, suck donkey balls and can only play in 100 games, and screw the development of their 19 year old stud into becoming a 7 million a year average guy they need to trade at age 23.

For example: I have Mike Jenner in HOF. The dude is mashing up the minors. If you get it all up in N00b heads that its ok to put your studs into the majors they will promote guys like Jenner into the Majors with a 58 in Durability and think that he will be fine...

Some guys who start with an 85 in Durability and 70's projected to high 80's low 90's and will play everyday at their position that is fine.

Even with Vargas... I would rather of had him play at SS and decline into 3B or something else rather than never play SS. You will pay less for him, and have him put up better numbers. You could easily have picked up a good player to reproduce 70's across the board for a fraction of the price that Vargas will cost you in long term free agency fees.

If you won the WS... it would have been worth it... but you didn't and now Vargas is more expensive in the long run, and somewhat less effective than he could have been.

Wait a sec...if I play him at SS, where he is defensively insufficient...he will cost me less? Explain.

If you played him at SS in the minors. Let him play there for awhile and develop fully. Its not like you were wasting ML ready seasons at first... thats what FA stop gaps could have handled.

But he is already the best player on a 100 win team...I need him there now.

102 games into Season 6, and Vargas is up to a 95 OVR. With a recent trade for a stud CF, he's now playing 3B, and should be a SS by Season 7 or 8.

At 22 and in only his 2nd full season in the Majors, Vargas already has 120 career HRs and 317 RBI.

At the 102 game mark, he's batting a career high .292 with 39 HRs and 102 RBI.

Vargas Now in Season 8

A season and a half after the last updaete, Vargas has added quite a bit to his resume:

- 2 Straight MVP Awards (S6 and 7)

- AL Silver Sluggers Awards at 2B and SS.

- Last 3 season totals of 48, 61 and 52 HRs.

- 194 Career HRs at the tender age of 24.

Our franchise has also moved from Seattle to Oakland, so the offensive numbers should be rising.
