I really did not want to leave Weber State in Phelan once I had turned them into an A school. It was really tough to pull the trigger (and I was even applying for my dream job...) We had a great returning roster and one that could easily have been favored to win the title the next year.

In the end it's pretty clear what I decided to do...

I went from Iowa State to Michigan State in Knight I feel like it was worth it. Baseline prestige is HUGE.

re: kentucky, the tark kentucky coach took 9. according to CS, his single post season (PIT) bid in his 6th season saved his job for a couple more seasons. so i would guess he has at least 1 more no post season to get canned, but not sure.

about baseline prestige, it really depends. if you can maintain a b- or b prestige school at an A or higher, I don't see the advantage. unless of course its your dream school. or if you imagine yourself staying in the b+/a- range, I would go for it.

what are the baseline prestige's for teams, how do you find this out?

If you search for them they have been posted in the forums before.

As others have said, since you've already built Ok St up to an A prestige its just personal preference. I'd make the decision based on which conference has the best coaches or has the most fun.

personally I would "Trade up" (unless you love the school you are at). The higher baseline schools are easier to get to and maintain an A/A+ prestige at than the mid bcs programs. But you will have some work to do to get there. jmo.

mainly because of Maryland (in my same conference) and there prior 4 years and there maintained B+ prestige. anyway, the point of my post (and its factual) was the Clemson's baseline prestige is lower in its conference than other teams in that same conference and that puts you at a distinct disadvantage when playing within that conference. What it takes to get Clemson to a A or higher prestige and maintain it is a lot harder than getting Syracuse to a A or higher prestige and maintaining it. That's a fact.

and recruiting with an A or higher prestige makes it easier to maintain the prestige also. so the point is that mid to lower Big 6 schools are at a disadvantage (due to lower baseline prestige) in this game as compared to the predetermined high baseline prestige schools (like Syracuse).
