right. or better winning % and coaches. for example if i offered Yamil a max deal he'd come back to me. i'm not doing that tho. i'll never offer a max deal.

i'n not sure if that's the one thing though. maybe they factor in that first but coaches and ballpark are figured in afterwards to a lesser extent. maybe patrick can shed some light on it.

so the difference between edham and me is 2 games but what if he likes my coaches better? can it offset those 2 games? plus your question about playoffs may be key too. i've got a barely worse record than edham but do my WS wins have any effect? don't know.

Do Free Agents consider whether there is a player already in his slot?

After all, a SS is less inclined to sign with the Yankees because they've already moved a previous SS to 3B just to accomodate the ego of their metrosexual, error-prone, megalomaniacal captain.
