If you want to avoid players that are unsure about signing you have to have a very conservative setting, a conservative setting leaves you open for the possibility.

Adjusting the risk level will impact what types of players are drafted during the specified rounds.

The signability issues can be broken down into 3 groups: signable, questionable and doubtful. A "Very Conservative" approach will draft only players that are openly signable. A "Conservative" approach will allow up to 1 questionable selection. A "Balanced" approach will allow up to 1 doubtful selection and up to 2 questionable selections. An "Aggressive" approach will allow up to 2 doubtful selections and unlimited questionable selections. A "very aggressive" approach will not impose any limits.

Changes to these settings aren't noticeable until the actual draft has taken place.

Given the budget conditions id take him. The advanced isnt't amazingly accurate and the 6M had his control nearly 20 points higher. My guess would be he was more an actual 45/85-90/80-85 for control and splits, which is perfectly usable if you get him to those levels, that said id much prefer him to be a RHP.

Some owners are too scared of low control.

Bey Moore announced his decision to accepted the Sandmen's offer and joined the Rookie league club. He took over the second starting postion and was shelled in his first game against the Cincinnati Autobots. He threw 66 pitches in two innings, giving up four hits, four runs, walking three, and striking out three finishing with a 9.00 ERA and a 3.50 WHIP.

His ratings currently are: CTRL:18 L:50 R:43 V:77

Hopefully he gets better.

This bad idea reminds me of a buddy who told a group of us guys that this girl he was interested in had told him she was "boy crazy." He thought it was a good thing and was going to pursue her against our advice. They didn't date long and she went on to bigger and better things, including sleeping around and eventually Playboy.

Sometimes you gotta realize a bad idea and avoid it. Control of 18 could improve, but not enough to be an effective ML pitcher

Seriously? He got SHELLED in rookie league? I would expect him to throw a couple of five-inning no-hitters in rookie league (albeit with 110 pitches and 9 walks).

If he hits his projections, he could be a decent back-end starter.

I've had good luck with a couple of pitchers with sub-50 CNT, but they've got to have great splits, an out pitch and good velocity. But I'd probably rather have a Type D comp pick if that were me.

Im not sure why, with the 17th overall pick, you take a chance on a guy who at the very best, would be a marginally good SP5 or LR when you could go and get someone else who could help your team more or be potential trade bait

Why on Earth would you discourage a friend from pursuing a boy-crazy future playboy model???

Dur: 27 Hlth: 100 STM: 89: CTRL:35 L:99 R:84 V:99 1:91 2:70 3:68 4:47 5:27

THe front office is worried about his lack of control, but is hoping that his splits, velocity, and pitches will make up for it. As a considered GM, I'm curious to know if he was worth it in the general public's opinion.

I do not want to say this is a bad pick but if he was standing next to a barn, it would take him 10 throws to hit that barn.

I'm trying to see how dating someone who became a Playboy model can be considered a 'bad idea' in the long run...

Yeah, but odds are he was gonna get it anyway, and this way he can say he caught it from a Playboy model.

Well, the Sandmen's front office has not publicly encouraged Bey Moore to seek pitching tips from a Playboy model, but unofficially rumors abound that the team is in discussions with Hugh Heffner for a possible exchange of services and cash.

Following a brief trip to see a specialist in LA, a much improved Bey Moore took the mound and put produced a 4 inning, one hit, four walk and two strikeout performance in 64 pitches. This brings his ERA to a manageable 3.00.

Current lines: Cntrl: 18, L50, R43, V 77, 1 71, 2 56, 3 41, 4 35, 5 24
