Recruiting an inel in d1... Topic

has anyone ever asked why it is that you cant recruit someone else to fill the spot if there is time and money ?

it just doesnt make sense to me that i signed this kid on the opening day of signings and my AD say it is very unlikely he will actually show up (true?) ... but i cant go out and get someone else?

oh well.

Yes oldave, if he goes JUCO he will go to a school in a DIFFERENT location. So if you were once recruiting a player 100 miles away who decided to go JUCO, when he shows up on your recruiting search next season he could be 2000 miles away. One of the biggest annoyances in D1 HD IMO.

i have never verified this, but it was my feeling the AI's are more willing to show up at hi prestige schools. I have recruited quite a few over the years, my experience says if the player is appropriate to the level of the school prestige, the odds of him showing up are very good 75-90%.

2 other annoying AI issues:

1 - in terms of EE, they will act like the class they started in, so if they are very good, the odds of them leaving after playing two or three seasons are higher than normal (just had this happen)

2 - they demand soph playing time their first year of eligibility, even though they have the IQ of a frosh
